  1. I'm hoping that it will give me a wider spray pattern & a little bit more paint volume than my current airbrush. I seem to have increasing issues with streaking, especially with metallic paints. Steve
  2. Just got the new "trigger" airbrush from Japan today! Can't wait to try it out! Steve
  3. I'm not nuts about the '69 & later big Pontiacs either. I do still kind of like the '68 because while I agree that I don't really appreciate the front end, it still has the overall body contours that the '67 has. I may have to keep my eyes peeled for one somewhere down the line, but I agree, I'll probably never spring the big bucks for a '69. Steve
  4. You're very welcome Bill! Steve
  5. The "arrow head" is on the front bumper. I think that the issue with the rocker trim being messed up is pretty common with these kits. Many of them wound up with the "custom" trim glued to the rocker area of the body thus destroying the molded in trim detail. Mine is the same way, but fortunately, mine came with all of the chrome rocker trim pieces, so I had them re-plated & I'm going to use them. Not exactly 100% stock but I think it should look pretty good. Steve
  6. I guess that this is as good a time as any for an update on the Guthmiller Bonneville. Being as I'm waiting for a new airbrush before any paint can be laid on, I've just continued with some engine bay details. I fashioned a fan shroud, added a few radiator brace details, installed the vent grate, extended the fender wells & did a little filling & sanding. I'll drill a few holes here & there, do some priming & touch up & then I can move on to a little more body work before she's ready for paint. Most of the scripts are good on my example, but I think the Bonneville script on the front valance may have to go. Steve
  7. I use acrylic craft paint all of the time with good results. Just don't thin it too much & then let it dry after application for a half hour or so & then remove the semi-dried paint from the areas to be chrome with a slightly dampened cloth, Q-tips, and my tool of choice, tooth picks. I use these acrylics for detailing everything from grilles & panel lines, to wheels & body badges. Always had very good luck with them. Steve
  8. I have no objection to that Ron. I've got a bunch of Pontiacs I still need to do myself. '60, '62, '64, '65, '66, and this '67 for Bonnevilles, & a '64 & '69 Grand Prix. I'm up to my eyeballs in ponchos! Steve
  9. I don't think that I have any of it left, but I built a '65 Chrysler 300 in a very similar color a while back. Turned out to be a much nicer color than I thought. Steve
  10. "Plum Mist" is where I'm going. Steve
  11. Doesn't bother me Roger, but you might want to save it for a while. I'll be building my '66 in the not too distant future & we could do another group build at that time. Steve
  12. Send it my way Peter! I'm not shy. I'll build it! I have an MPC '66 Bonneville that is basically NIB that I will be doing in the not too distant future. I have no problem with building a pristine kit. Steve
  13. That has been suggested, but for now I'm just excited to see that there are so many people interested in getting on board! I'm surprised to see how many of us have these kits laying around & it will be terrific seeing several of them going onto peoples shelves. Steve
  14. I'm good with that Snake! Only problem is, some of the builds might kind of get lost in the shuffle if people don't realize that there's more than one project going on here. But I think it would be fun! I suppose I could change the name of the thread so that people realize that this is kind of a group effort. I'm open to suggestions. Steve
  15. Looks great Walter! But I have to say, you must not build many 50s cars! Foiling the '59 El Camino is a piece of cake compared to a '58 Buick or '59 Dodge! Nice work! Steve
  16. Better oil up your check writing pen! Some of these are like hen's teeth to find! Steve
  17. All three were offered in convertible versions Bill. At least I'm assuming that the '69 "pickup" kit was a convertible like the re-popped '70. Steve
  18. I won't beat a dead horse here either, but I really wish that people would use a little bit more common sense & ethics when they sell something. It's as simple as that. If I have an item for sale, whether it's a model, a car or a house, My descriptions will always reflect the item that is for sale as exactly as I possibly can. I would expect that, and I think that anyone that might want to purchase something that I'm selling would deserve it as well. Nuff said. Steve
  19. Yes, and I like to cook, but I would never call myself a "professional chef" This drives me a little nutty as well. Just call it what it is, a built kit that needs rebuilding. When I see these "pro-built" auctions on ebay, it just makes me think that they're trying to pull something over on someone. That I can't abide. Steve
  20. Kustom Khrome does theirs the same way. Just prep them & send them out. Prices are about the same & quality is much better. My experience with turn around time with Kustom Khrome has been much better than with Chrome Tech. Closer to 3 weeks rather than 6. Steve
