  1. Welcome "Dude". You have quite the image to live up to! Steve
  2. They wouldn't have been anything from Chrysler around 1960. The Chrysler tail lights from that period were all pretty flamboyant pieces with definitely no flat mounting surface. Steve
  3. I started a convertible conversion on this promo many years ago, but kind of gave up on it for lack of an accurate interior. You could probably use the engine straight from the AMT '58 Plymouth Fury kit. As far as dual quad early Mopars go, you could see if you could come up with some early '60s Johan engine parts, especially the air cleaners, & I'm sure you could cobble something together. Steve
  4. Now that's some nice work!! Great job! Steve
  5. I don't know, maybe it's just me but a 6 banger in a Camaro seems like a real waste of time. The announcers on the show seemed to think it was a real rarity. Steve
  6. Reminds me of a '67 Camaro I saw sold on an the Mecum auction show last night. It had the RS package with a 6 cylinder engine. Uh.......why? Steve
  7. Isn't that a coincidence. I actually have a '64 Lemans convertible that I bought at an antique shop many years ago. Under the right conditions, I may be persuaded to let it go. Steve
  8. Sorry Mark. I don't have a good windshield frame for the convertible, & I have one hardtop that I will use eventually. There's a possibility that I may have an extra windshield. Steve
  9. Thanks John! I still may do a little "tweaking" on it later. As long as I have the body parts ready to paint, I'll be busy with that stuff for a while & I can revisit some of the details later. I'm sure I've got a good month or two left to go on this one before it's finished. Steve
  10. For bodies, all lacquer, 80% MCW. The rest, Duplicolor. Steve
  11. The main problem that I have with Modelhaus mirrors is that they're just copies of original annual mirrors, which were not great to start with. I used that same '59 Chevy kit mirror to make a mold & I started resin casting my own. With modest success. Steve
  12. As I said John, I usually try to limit myself on the improvements that I do on these annuals. You could go on forever with some of the engines & the chassis, especially with Johan. Plus I always like to try to keep these rare kits as close to original as possible. Just a thing of mine. But, I guess as long as I'm doing a little messing with this one, a master cylinder is not a huge deal. Don't expect much for changes to the chassis! Steve
  13. If I'd have known that you were looking for '60 Lincoln parts Bill, I could have helped you out. Steve
  14. Yeah Richard, I know that there's a lot of this stuff out there in resin. Problem is, I usually don't need them.......until I need them. I don't mind making a few parts here & there for a project. As a matter of fact, most of the parts I do use a lot, no one seems to make. When someone starts casting nice mirrors, I'll probably keep him in business! Steve
  15. Just a couple of pics of what I came up with for a master cylinder. It's just resting together at the moment. I made the cover separately so I could paint it a different color more easily. Steve
  16. Well, I took the suggestions that Bill & John to heart & decided to go ahead with them. The panel line thing was easy of course. Just a little more primer & the body will be back on track. The master cylinder was a little bit stickier subject. It was no problem grinding off the existing one, but of course I made myself a little more work than anticipated. I really didn't have a master cylinder on hand to spare. I couldn't justify taking one from a complete kit & making it "incomplete". So my only avenue was scratch building. Not an extremely difficult task, but "fussy" none the less. Big fumbly fingers don't go well with tiny parts. I believe it went pretty well though. I just have to let some glue set before I can finish it off. I'll post a photo when I've finished. Steve
  17. You need new glasses Scott! Almost everything you stated as missing on Yuri's build, I can see. The rocker panel moldings are ridged, & the Bonneville lettering is in the grille, albeit faint. You are correct about the badge on the front quarters though. My "Prestige" kit has them. Steve
  18. I have no interest in how many hours it takes me to finish a build. On average, depending on detail level, I can usually finish one in 1 to 3 months. The only reason why I have any interest in that, is because I know that if I slack off for too long, I'll lose interest entirely, move on to other things & never finish anything. The last time I did that, it cost me over 10 years of modeling time. Steve
  19. That's a good idea John. I guess I hadn't even noticed that they were missing. Well I guess it's back to Google to check out some more reference photos. I guess while I'm at it, I just as well revisit Bill's master cylinder suggestion. No more suggestions guys, I'll never get this done!.......... Just kidding! Steve
  20. I thought about that Bill. But at this point, I think I'm going to leave it alone. It was on my list, but I decided that the list needed to be shortened if I was ever going to get anywhere on this build. I may change my mind, but it will have to be soon before the paint starts flying! Steve
  21. Thanks guys! The gray primer is just so I can spot any imperfections that need attention. I'm working on several coats of white primer right now as the car will be painted light colors. Hopefully I'll be able to get some color on it before the weekend. Steve
  22. Thanks Wayne. I've heard that some guys use this & I just want to try it out. If I don't like the results, I'll go back to my usual way. Just thought it might be worth a little experimentation. Steve
  23. Thanks everyone! I've been wanting to try it for tinting glass for a while, but could never find it. Now I can give it a shot. Thanks!! Steve
