Your are so right about the weak point. I broke off my distributor on the last plug wire. I love all the little fixes you have made for the weak spots on the kit. The colors look outstanding!! -

Looks like the Illinois had a good showing in that contest. -

Well I would love to complain more about my experience but I don't want to derail your awesome build by filling up thread space with unrelated to the topic garbble. -

I have NEVER gotten any replies about any issues I have ever had with Revell. My 1/12th 69 foose camaro kit had a broken windshield and NO tail lights ..... Sent multiple emails and never hear anything. -

LOOKS AWESOME! Looking at you rear brake assm....your looks like mine did.... It looks like the brake assm on the right is missing the the little fitting for the rubber hose to connect to. Mine was missing on one of them also. Your may not be missing, but it looks like it is in the pic. I had to make a fitting for mine. -

I like the creepy feeling seeing old grimed up cars gives me. Like ghost cars. -

I can not wait to see some more progression on this build! -
You can get the little strings of glue when you use it. That can really get you mad if it gets on a window or new paint. I did the same thing you did....and when I would apply the glue and pull the stick away from the part, I would get these "strings" of glue that stretch away like caramel and it would land on my parts and cause all kinds of issues.

Joe when I was in your shop last to pick up the 1/16th mustang kit....... I was shocked by all the new product. The larger scale RC's are sooooo tempting. But one thing caught my eye......It was a crawler.... like a old orange toyota pick up truck..... I wanted it..... it was like $900! WTF! lol!!! Way to much for me. But very soon, I want to get me a nice crawler.

Joe, I will also want you to order this one when they become available for purchase - http://www.round2models.com/models/mpc/highjacker-van Both of these kits look fun as heck to build! I remember the van when I was a kid, but I did not build it. It was my uncles I think.

Big Kahuna - 1/16 F/C - New Body Arrived - 1/12
MADDOG replied to Nitrozilla's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
That is awesome Joe. I really enjoyed building this kit. Besides the missing parts.... my only complaint would be the windows. They are bad. I broke the windshield trying to shape it right. This may be why the pics of the car on the side of the box do not even have the windows installed. Look closely at the pics you can see it. Other then that everything fit great. OH YEAH!! The part you reinforced on the frame.....one side of mine was broken in the box. But it was a simple fix. -

For sure. The plan will be to just make some. But I am interested to see if Joe is also missing his since they are not pictured. -
Its that time of year again. I love watching the kids play. It brings me right back to my childhood just like building models does. To never growing up!!!

I am missing the 2 front posts that go through the front grill and connects inside to fire wall. They are part# E 117. But looking at your parts you have laid out, I don't see that you have them either. Can you see if you are missing these 2 parts? Looking at the box image on the side, it looks like the model on the box does not have them either. I am wondering if they have been removed or this is a mistake. Thanks. Your build looks awesome! -
Welcome! I also love building Gundams!

When I raced RC cars.... I spent $1000's a year. On my model building..... Maybe...$100 a month....some months I spend nothing, others I spend like $400 to $500 depending on my cash flow. But less then $900 a year. They say never go food shopping when hungry. I try to never go Hobby shopping with more money then I need, If I do, I will find something or many things that were not on my list.

Chicago Hobby shops
MADDOG replied to prostreeter69's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree. The way I felt when I was kid kid looking at everything...the way it smells... I instantly go back in time when I walk in to a hobby shop. My Father took me to many hobby shops all over Chicago when I was a kid while he looked for the models he wanted. -
Looks amazing.
