39 Dodge custom hauler
Petetrucker07 replied to Mopar - D's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Beautiful work Dan. I'm getting parts together to build one of these finally. I hope mine comes out as nice as yours here. I really like these old COEs. It was a joy watching this come together. -
What Do New Kits Have Inaccuracies
Petetrucker07 replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think it's a case of, I don't know how to your job, but my book says your doing it wrong. It's people who have no idea what they're doing. They have a book with pictures. To them, that's all they need. Then every so often they get a chance to "look" at a 1:1. Then they say, yeah our drawings and everything look pretty close to it. Project approved! -

That's awesome you still have that cradle. She's a beautiful baby girl man. The cat will get over it eventually.

What Do New Kits Have Inaccuracies

I think that part of the problem is some things are more difficult to scale down and would cost more to correct. There are some things, like roof lines, posts, rear end angles that, to me, have no excuse other than just not paying attention or not caring by the manufacturer. There some issues that, as you said, just nit pickin. There issues with the trucks I build, but, the issues that are molded in the factory aren't as big of issue as the mistakes I make. I'm not a stickler for an accurate model. Never will be. So I'm not gonna worry too much about the manufacturers mistakes. I will do my best to make sure what I do the kit, is my best. -
That mom sure took the fun out of that poor kids hobby. Thanks Matt. I spent last weekend refinishing the shorter, oak display. It's stained almost as dark as the cherry one, and cleared many times to shiny finish. I also have another small oak display. It's perfect for a pickup or car. I refinished it darker to kinda match the others.

Sorry for your loss. Family is always more important. This is a hobby, it'll be here when you return. As we will be waiting patiently for your return as well. Terrible news, hope you and your family will be strong. Someone is never really gone till they're forgotten. -
Paint looks great. Nice save!

Great start JT. With you verifying the usual Moebius quality, I can't wait to start on 1 of the 2 I picked this week. It's gonna be a little bit before I start another build, I have 12 builds I need to get squared away for the upcoming show. Anyway, I'm standing by waiting for this get some sort of color on it and what truck your gonna put under it.

Fuel level, air filter, fuel filter, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, 1st drive axle temp, 2nd drive temp, trans temp, volts, amps, boost, brake application pressure, primary air pressure, secondary air pressure, tractor brake pressure, clock and suspension load gauge. Oh forgot speedo and tach. I think that's all of them.

Good luck with new venture in life. Don't the bureaucratic BS get to you. Enjoy the driving part, enjoy the sights you'll see and all the baloney from shippers and receivers won't seem so bad. Oh, hope they assign you a Prostar! -
K100s and so many others. I'm probably gonna get a couple DM Macks, just to stash. Next time at that HS, I'll grab the preorder form to make sure of what it's going for. I got the Moebius trailers for a steal. This LHS is givin me screaming deals right now. Guess it's because I live in Ca, goin to an HS in Arizona.

Auto Transporter Trailer By Revell
Petetrucker07 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Just preordered 2 from a LHS. From what they were told by their supplier, this trailer is due to be released this month or next month. MSRP of 39.99. -
Wonder what brainiac decided to put recap drive tires on the trailer. I know this trailer probably doesn't go to work anymore, but still. If it did, that's not a bright decision.
