  1. That's usually where they start their cross country vacation.
  2. Thanks for the help Tim. I may dig out another hood. I don't think I'm up for serious cab surgery, a little cosmetic is gonna happen though. Looks like I need shorten the breathers too. They look a little long.
  3. Thanks Tim. I was hoping you'd chime in on this. You sure did at the right spot. I'm gonna try my hand at this "poor mans" 379. Removing the outside vents were next on my list of things to do. Now the list got longer. Thanks again Tim. That will really help with replicating this truck. I loosely mocked up a set of Italeri 378 stock air breathers. I think these will work nicely. On 1/25, the 1/24 breathers look like big after market Vortox breathers.
  4. I didn't this in person. I saw it cruisin around Google.
  5. I did some sheet work. I got the daycab panel made. I'm gonna do the intake system to resemble a 379, with the duct work under the hood. The rear panel I used an extra Italeri sleeper panel to cut up. I used it so I could have a cab mount.
  6. Ditto man. Get well soon so we can see more of your spectacular work!
  7. I'm kinda liking the hot rod, twin turbo idea. I guess I could make the mods to the kit motor. Turbo'ed and blown, yeah buddy. I'm kinda feel in my Tim Allen side coming out. MORE POWER ARRRRR ARRRRR ARRRR.
  8. Thanks for checking in on this build everyone. Gordon, thanks and hope this build won't get boring or I loose motivation. Miles, I'm gonna be stickin the shorter stacks on this mornin. Randy, I lookin for the right shade of yellow. Who knew yellow would be hard to find. Thanks Charles. Hope this would be worthy to sit next to your builds. Micheal, I'm curious about the stacks. Sounds like a cool idea. I'm gonna try to get this in primer this weekend. It's gonna be hard since my weekend is shortened again. I gotta leave for work late Sunday night and be out all week. I would do some motel room building, but won't have much time.
  9. Here ya go Tim. The thread for Randy's truck. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41299&page=1#
  10. Did you get this done in time Randy? I thought I saw pics of it at DSC. Now I'm really kicking myself for not being able to be there.
  11. Gorgeous, simply gorgeous. I love it. The skinny whites on "Torque Thrusts", slammed, oh boy. Just how I would've built it. Very well done.
  12. I know 1 thing for sure. It won't have a Ford under the hood. Sorry purists.
  13. I'll be experimenting with engines and what not, maybe a twin turbo and supercharged 3408. Now that would be different.
  14. The Detroit has crossed my mind. I'm not exactly sure yet what I'll be using. Only time will tell.
  15. Looks great man. Nice addition of the landing gear. Lookin forward to seeing more.
  16. Unbelievable. I think you may have straight jackets in multiple colors to everyday. Amazing work. Absolutely amazing! However I still think you have giant penny. LOL.
  17. I'm gonna have to lengthen the frame for this cab. A Jimmy Flintstone 53 Ford crew cab COE.
  18. Here's a mock up with the tall curve out stacks. They almost look too tall. I'm gonna dig out the shorter curve outs I have and compare.
  19. I got the front as low as it can go and still use the bumper I have. The rear will be easy, cut the air bags, bump stops and shave a couple leafs off.
  20. Now that I got work out of the way. I got the wheelbase shortened up as much as I could and still have room for the quarter fenders. I mocked it up the right size tires from Double Take, 225s on Moebius wheels. Now on to lowering this as low as I can.
