GSL Countdown - What's in it for you?
Petetrucker07 replied to Nitrozilla's topic in Contests and Shows
Thanks for the pics Chris. Some fine lookin builds there. -
I sprayed some green onto that body. I can't use this yellow. It looks to much like CAT yellow, which is too dark. Back on the search. Here's the engine painted the Tamiya yellow. Looks way too close to CAT yellow. I'm gonna spray some Tamiya pearl clear over it, that should change the tone, that and the real engine is yellow pearl.

That is really clean. Looks awesome Chuck. Very nice weekend build.

I'm hoping to get close to this. This is the interior of the real truck a few years ago. The last time I saw this truck in person, it had a painted to match aluminum floor, yellow and green flames. I'm gonna take a little creative freedom on the dash. I'm gonna paint the gauge and switch panels green with the dash being yellow.

Model kit subject builders block
Petetrucker07 replied to ERIK88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's right. Revell reissued a Peterbilt Wrecker last year, it was a limited run. It's discontinued already and the prices have already almost doubled. I'm glad I snatched up two, but wanted a few more. The recently reissued AMT Peterbilt, I'm grabbin those every chance I get, same with a few others, whether or not I end up building them. -

Been there. I have 5 or 6 of different truck kits. I look at them and can't decide how I want to build any of them. Too many choices I guess. -
Thanks Vince. Your cool guy, very understanding. Glad to.have traded, look forward to when we do again.

You are too kind man, I really do appreciate the compliments. I laid some putty down before I step away from the bench for the night. I filled the horns, the kit air breather, the kit lube finer and the first round of putty on the back of the cab. Oh, forgot I filled the turn signals on the fenders.

Back at the bench finally. Been a long week. I threw a little primer on it today. I started sanding on it per Tim's instructions, to cheat it into a 379. Kurts remastered 255s look awesome on this. I also bought some Tamiya Chrome Yellow today. Tomorrow I might try it out with the green to see how it looks.
