  1. Id be right in line behind sean, payin to see it. I can only dream of how the v8 and v12 detroits sound with straight short exhaust. I heard an old euclid quarry truck with no muffler, it had a v12 in it. It wad just music to my ears, a screamin buzzin dozen at the top of its lungs. Great progress terry
  2. Thats probably the truth sean. You know that truck is still alocated funds for maintance because its still on site and "in use"
  3. Time flies when your gettin old, im only 31 but i still trip out that stuff i grew up with music, movies, toys, tv shows, are 20 years old or older. I have that re-issue wrecker, cant wait to start on it, just gotta get motivation to start it
  4. Funny thing about new ray, i know theyre toys but most of that stuff isnt scaled correctly, trailers too tall, rims too big, but thats good to know about the equipment looking closer to 1/25. That stuff is way cheaper than say buying a 1/25 CAT loader or excavator
  5. Kinda lookin like an old roadway truck
  6. Youd be amazed what you could find just walking around hobby lobby, walmart, micheals, or any craft store. Theres a lot of stuff that can used for different things with no modification.
  7. OMG, that is really nice. I really need to build something like that. Thats cool you have build up pics of display. The trucks look amazing. That whole deal, display and trucks, is a work of art.
  8. Now that would be a sight to see. A scale version of the old truck races. If you build it, we will drool
  9. These are very impressive collections. Wish i had pics of mine when i was younger. Now what i still have are glue bombs or just memory pieces good for nothing else, plastic is soft like its starting to melt. There is still some that are salvageable. I agree with sean the cf build looks really good. Someday ill build a set of wobble wagons.
  10. I wish i couldve seen these live back in the day, long before my time. I love watchin old footage of the races, or beginning of Smokey and the bandit 2. Very awesome terry.
  11. Welcome to the forum.
  12. Absolutely helpful. I would be interested in something like that. It would help me greatly just having a starting point
  13. That looks awesome alan, i really like the orange bottom dump.
  14. Got my ca haulers today, cant wait to get started on the 1st 1. I think you all will like it
  15. Lookin good bud, what color is the box gettin
  16. On a machine with dials, even if its not precise, you can get close enough to duplicate.
  17. I have some tooling but i dont know if it would fit on that small machine. I wonder if micro 100 carbide tooling would work on that little lathe, i have some micro 100 stuff
  18. I really enjoyed machining, but wasnt makin any money. I used to run wasino screw lathes, turret style mitsubishi lathes, okuma twin turret lathes, and 15 tool 4 axis okuma mills. And of course the bridgeports and manual lathes too. I was thinkin about that harbor freight 1, but like you said, repeatability isnt there. But it doesnt really need to be either, its not runnin a 5000 part production. Sorry to high jack your post
  19. Im like you tom, only 1 car, 1 truck and 2 projects, but buying, oh boy. I just want to have everything i need when i go to start building, i figure i have about 5 years worth of builds.
  20. Testors 1 shot inca gold if i remember right. If you look up this build on the bench section it should have the color on there
  21. Oh my, looks like you saved quite a bit.
  22. I used to be a machinist, but down here theres no money in it anymore, i even programmed CNCs. Then i started driving. But i still know how to operate, im gonna look for a small lathe myself. It would open the door to almost limitless possibilities. Thats some fine machine work by the way terry, i had a feeling thats how you were doin that turned aluminum stuff.
  23. Those look good, you have more finished than i dao, if i post my collection now, it would consist a bunch of boxes, a couple in progress and 1 done
