List of big rig truck engines in kits
Petetrucker07 replied to Bgrgbldr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just picked up a glue bomb itsleri 378. Im thinkin of changing the detroit for something else. I was leanin toward a 3408 or 8v-92 detroit, some sort of v-8 diesel. What are my options, kit robbing or resin? Any help is appreciated! -
I can tell you on the tanker, it is a difficult build, the outside tank supports need fabrication, they do not line up at all. Lots of flashing, the god awful chrome frame rails. It will be a challenge for sure!!!!! The truck looks good, nice work and good detail. The little things of plates and numbers are completely up to you since your goin for the o/o look.

AMT Lowboy Trailer
Petetrucker07 replied to kilrathy10's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Seems logical to me, but if your gonna put out model kits, seens the best place for research of popular trucks and trailers, they would be sittin on over passes and truck stops, not a conference room lookin at charts and graphs and case studies. They need only to look outside at the highway, for my style of building, truck shows. The 379 ext hood was THE most noticed truck on the highways. I agree JT, why was it over looked? How could a 48 ft spread acle flatbed be missed? Guess those never rolled passed the meeting room in the hallway. -

Yes the long hauler is, but the flat top isnt. I know i can get the flat top piece for the long hauler. Im not as skilled as some, its easier for me to start with the flat top. I know we are a small segment but dpend more on this stuff -
Missing Freightliner Grill Bars
Petetrucker07 replied to vincen47's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thats why theyre called freightshakers, they shake everything apart. That is a very common sight here in so cal, or the grill gone all together. Doesnt make sense why, there is plenty of these trucks in scrap yards and salvage yards all over. It would drive me up the wall if my truck was missing ANYTHING -
Just seen moebious has a smooth sided 53 foot trsiler with a roll up door coming out. No info on their website on when its gonna be released.

Welcome glen, in time the knowledge will come. Soon youll be the all out builds you see here, just keep at it, try new things, dont be afraid to "lets see if this works" or "ill try it like this". Itd your imagination, let it free.

AMT Lowboy Trailer
Petetrucker07 replied to kilrathy10's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Im sure most of us on here would agree totally, italeri needs to reissue the 378 more often, i think its time. Those kits are gettin harder to find, when found the price is almost out of reach, ive lucky lately, but trailers are a MUST -

Petetrucker07 replied to kilrathy10's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Lets blow up moebious website with requests then, they need to do more trucks trailers and cars. We need more choices for those who dont want to or have the knowledge or whatever to attempt a from scratch build -

Dont forget your permits and pilot cars. Got to be legal now! Looks really good JT. Paint looks beautiful. Are you gonna make a visor, that would make the truck pop. i hope work lets up some, no time for my little trucks. I picked up tge last 2 rolls of D.O.T. tape that was on ebay last weekend, now i can start doin it right, again gotta be legal!
