  1. Very nice work kevin. Did you get the stacks off ebay from seller rhino. What did you use on the trailer, alclad or bmf?
  2. So sad, the days of loud pipes and rollin coal down the highways is almost gone.
  3. Welcome ian, the early pics of your collection brought back some very fond memories when i was growin up, thats almost exactly how my room looked, a 1000 hot wheels and all. Such a simpler way if life then, now more complicated big responsibilities, but cooler tools, better builds. Good times though, always!
  4. I got frustrated and had to put it away. Lost all motivation when i seen how crooked the ridiculously chrome plated frame rails were. I know itll straighten out when the body and chassis are together, but its just the point, thought it would be a quick simple, paint, glue and done. Boy was i wrong! Im not giving up, long weekend comin, plan on lots of modeling
  5. Welcome back, i took 10 years off and came back last year, joined this forum not that long ago, many tips and ideas. Feels good to have somewhere to post and chat
  6. Welcome back. This forum has helped greatly after my 10 year break, happy modeling
  7. That is a nice kit. I wish revell would re-release all the truck kits. There are so many that were discontinued that we all here wish werent. The list is long for sure. Ive only seen it on ebay from time to time, the price is out of reach for me.
  8. Thats a cool little tip about the elmers glue, im gonna get some soon, cant believe ive never thought of it
  9. Thats gonna look ridiculous, in a very good way. I can only hope mine comes out lookin that good
  10. I think that ford cab is in there printed catalog, its not in the on-line catalog of parts
  11. Lookin good man. The moebious kits are amazing, highly detailed, a far, far cry from amt. i really like that color. Lookin forward to seein more!
  12. Thats lookin awesome, i got a couple of projects that i want to do that kinda of detail on, except they got 2 distributors. Great detail, beautiful work
  13. Yeah i was kinda confused by that too. What genious at amt decided on that. It makes things more difficult than they need to be
  14. Thats what im runnin into, the cross members were ridiculous, my luck with amt kits has been just about like that. My frame rails are as crooked as a politician, on the tree and glued, those rubber bands came handy to hold the rails together. Thanks for the heads up on the out riggers, that wouldve drove me up the wall!!
  15. I had no idea there was a company making a 379 hood. Im having some issues with p&p resin, i ordered parts over a month ago now, still havent got them. Good to know theres a nother option
  16. Takin a break from my cabover project. This trailer is gonna be goin with the stretched out prostar project thats still in the box waitin. This is startin a bit tough as some have said. Dont like the dayton wheels, that and they wouldnt match the prostar, gonna fab the moebious wheels to work, which ended up bein a lower profile tire, which i like. Gonna add p&p resin fenders and a custom rear bumper. Im gonna try to alter the plumbing to resemble a milk tanker, goin good so far, no big issues, yet.
  17. Looks good, is that the 389 conversion from p&p resin
  18. Welcome alex, comin from small scale you got patience, and the detail work should be no problem. Lookin forward to seein some pics
  19. Very nice work, i love old cabovers!
  20. Looks good, well done, im gonna be building that trailer soon, id like to see pics of trailer and truck at the 5th wheel so i can see the height of the trailer to the fenders
  21. The amt fruehauf van, not the exterior post trailer, is the closest i think your gonna find. I believe the trailer in the movie is a stoughton, youd have to make decals to make it look authentic to the movie
  22. I need some pointers on stripping a real bad paint job. I got impatient and the paint ran, bubbled and wrinkled. I was told purple power, but not how to use it. Please any help would be appreciated.
  23. That W900L would look really good in front of the lowbed, stretch it, put a lift axle on it, yeah buddy, my 3 are the lowbed, the dozer and the W900. The 680 would look perfect under the moebius refer
