  1. Great job done, love the truck and the dozer - sweet.
  2. Nice Lamborghini model and color combination !
  3. Interesting concept (fotki.com) for presenting your collection. What was wrong with webs.com ? Not so user friendly ? I must commend your cars collection, lovely models! Take care, Rok
  4. X2 I tested a fully electric car a few years ago. Must say I was missing the sound of an engine from the start. Just rolling down the road and not hearing anything but the noise of tires, bahh, it gets boring real soon. I don't like the newest electric cars also. Same story as with my first experience. About self driving car: A few weeks back I had the chance to experience the newest Mercedes-Benz S500 Intelligent drive that enables so called self driving. Opinion: It was amazing and also feeling really safe on the road. Do not forget these vehicles have different systems for long, medium and short range and they detect other vehicles 360 degrees around / also pedestrians / traffic signs / can follow the road or vehicle in front of you / you name it, etc. etc. Reaction time is always in miliseconds but then again what will hapen with reliability after 5 / 10 or more years. It can happen sooner of course. FYI: the previous Mercedes S class was already technologicaly so advanced that Google team said it would be easilly transformed into self driving car. "The best or nothing"
  5. Awesome models, I really like the 1959 Impala. What happened to 1/25 scale / switching to 1/87 ? Do you run HO railroad ? Regards, Rok
  6. Congrats on the new born Seems like a lot of work still ahead of you but it will be worth it, wish you luck!
  7. Scott, thank you for your detailed answer & take good care of this lovely Saturn rocket
  8. How is it going Henry, any good progress made ?
  9. You have skills! Checked your website and must say I really like your Mercedes and Lamborghini 1:8 scale models (others are great too ). Regards, Rok
  10. This one is great (have the Revell 1:144 and some other Saturn models). Yours is very interesting because of scale and it's see through details. Does it come prepainted & what is the price for one of these?
  11. Nicely captured dio & also love your attention to details ! Bravo
  12. Nice T'rantula model. I am fascinated about your DIY custom wheels and tires! Q1: is making aliminium tubes into rims expensive process ? Q2: Is the front wheel made of rubber or plastic ? - on photos it looks kind of glossy compared to the rear ones.
  13. As far as i know ZIS limousines were powered by a 6-litre, 8-cylinder engines, correct me if I am wrong ? I am attaching two photos from Slovenian issue number 26. of Legendary Cars ("Legendarni avtomobili" in Slovenian) issued by DeAgostini including model of ZIS 110 limousine also known as "Soviet packard": The ZIS model is made by IXO (1:43), quality is sow sow. Short info: ZIS 110 were produced from 1946 till 1958, a little more than 2000 units were made in many versions (limo, convertible, 4x4, taxi, armored (ZIS 115) and even ambulance). We have two armored versions of ZIS 115 (gift from Nikita Khrushchev) on display at Slovenian Technical Museum in Bistra, together with original Packard from 1937 (gift from Stalin) and 14 other prestigious presidental vehicles that Josip Broz Tito used (Yugoslavian president). My favourite of all is otherwise Mercedes-Benz 540K from 1939 (this car was used in "Schindler's List" movie from 1993). Check the gallery. Enjoy.
  14. Legendary car and kit ! Definitely following your progress. Good luck with this beauty
  15. I always had a thing for ZERO's (in my opinion one of the most beautiful WW2 airplane, other two would be P 51 and Bf 109). How many parts are in the kit ? Wishing you a nice build
  16. Nicely done model. You can see a real one at Kubinka tank museum. These two units were also powered by Maybach engines (i got a thing for Maybach don't ask me why).
  17. Thanks for the welcome slammedi'am and OldTimer50707 Checking around the forum and seeing lots of interesting dios and models.
  18. I admire the work and attention to details on your trailer and dio! Can't wait for an update
  19. This is the best dresser drawer ! I love the idea, nice work
  20. Thank you for your warm welcomes ! @Russell C; I agree with you on what technology enables us to do / see / learn / communicate / sell/buy etc. these days all at a glimpse of an eye. Certainly diecast models evolved in details in the past two decades, but so did the price Current high end models and also budget ones are selling at ridiculous prices ! @slusher; Tnx, feeling good already @Ridge Rider; Thank you for your kind words, website is kind of old school (HTML) but getting a lot of traffic, so I will keep it in this format and build a new modern one alongside (glimps into the future Mercedes collection diecast model cars or even better -> Mbusa)
  21. Hello fellow modelers ! My name is Rok aka Biggie. Been building plastic model kits of airplanes and military vehicles (mostly tanks) in the past. A few years of modelling pause has followed. Many of you know how it works with the hobby going ON and OFF, huh. So when model making was in OFF mode I became very passionate about collecting diecast model cars mainly in scale 1:18 and 1:24 of brands Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Smart and UNIMOG. More than 3500 models and toys from around the world are currently part of Mercedes collection, not counting other brands (like Pagani, Lamborghini etc.) of model cars. Back to story: So from a few hundred non assembled model kits of airplanes (majority of them in 1:72 & russian aviation) and other military related stuff (1/35) i slowly started to collect even Mercedes-Benz plastic model kits ( I said to myself many times I will not collect plastic Benzes) no matter the scale but then again most are in 1:24. So here I am & hopefully will start on a plastic project soon. I have done some custom diecast model cars in the meantime (much harder to work on ZAMAK / diecast cars especially when converting from coupe to cabriolet for example - Dremel tool suffers a lot ). Other hobbies would be; model railways (HO + N + G/Maxi scale), radio controlled cars, jeeps, trucks, busses, tanks, ships, planes, helicopters, hovercrafts and must mention also one submarine. No rockets at the moment ooow and stamp collecting from time to time (only TRAIN stamps will do the magic). Also very active member in 1:1 automotive world scene (president of Mercedes-Benz club Slovenia ) and leading & developing online info portal and forum Mercedes-Benz Slovenija ( I love IT and SEO). If you have any questions just ask, Sending you all warm regards from Slovenia. Take care & happy modelling! Rok
