  1. That is one of the differences, but the grille is the one which stand out the most. I'm not sure what issues your relative had but mine was dead reliable. The worst feature was its skittishness on icy roads, no weight on the rear combined with lots of power.
  2. There are a few: p.3 Model T, p.4 Model B, p.6 1937 V8, p.8 Lincoln V12, p.9 Model A. I imagine that is what you meant.
  3. My first car was a 1973 Gremlin X with the 304 and the Levi's interior. I am going to attempt replicating it using the AMT '75 kit with Flintstone a resin '72-'73 body.My cousin with the photoshop skills has converted an internet image with red stripes to one with gold stripes. Now we have to figure out how to do the the mirror image to do the other side of the car.
  4. 1951 Chevrolet 235. OHV L6 235 cu.in/105 hp. This was in the 51 Bel Air which was used for the 2023 Cannonball. It now sports a C5R.
  5. This would make a nice project assuming the pickup is available. The larger truck is.
  6. That looks like a nice area you live in. Gorgeous background.
  7. 1951 Chevrolet Bel Air with C5R Corvette engine. Should be subtle enough not to attract too much attention yet able to scoot and maintain speed when required. In the shop and at the photoshoot in the old warehouse.
  8. It is done. Powerful yet subtle. the machnist even found a 1951 license plate with a veiled reference to the engine. A final once over. Ready for the final photo shoot in the old warehouse.
  9. Clear is on. It hasn't wrinkled yet.
  10. Plugging away at the foiling. Not my favorite sport.
  11. Flasback..... When I tried the body on the chassis I noticed that the inner fenders prevented it from seating properly. I then remembered having the same issue with the fastback version years ago. So, out they came.
  12. I got as far as this and when I put it together nothing lined up so I threw it in the round file. Later, I "salvaged" it. we'll see.
  13. It has been a while. I've had orders to build a deck, gazebo and planting boxes so no work on the old Chevy. This morning, I managed to paint the roof despite the forest fire smoke smell.
  14. The interior is coming along.
  15. Came across this one at the local harware store. I wasn't even aware they sold models. It was in among the puzzles. So I bought it.
  16. Assembly continues. At times there were serious thoughts about turning it into a barn find.
  17. Saw this at the old car display tonight.
  18. Getting ready for the long haul. It will need a bit of trimming. I am considering opening the trunk lid (a first for me) so that the cell is accessible. Otherwise it will be a racing filler either on the rear quarter or on top of the lig (which might be too conspicuous for a stealth run).
  19. Got it. Along with several smudges. Now hopefully it will fit on the chassis without the need for some serious clampu8ng.
  20. Did a bit of carving around the front crossmember to seat the C5R properly.
  21. Having a fight getting the interior into the body. I hope to win eventually.
  22. I had used the "lowered" setting for the front king pins to get a slight rake in order to achieve a bit of downforce without adding wings and spoilers. Ended up having to open up the front wheel openings. Next is figuring how to terminate the side molding which has been cut.
  23. The V12 won't fit, hovewer the other three will. So let's hash this over. We want power and relative economy so the 427 is out. The C5R looks like a likely candidate.
  24. A teaser. It will sort of look like this.
