What did you see on the road today?
landman replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Something you don't see every day, a Bricklin. He was changing the door weatherstrips. -
My Plaskit order. Took a while as he moved and had issues. looks like he's back in the saddle.

1974 Dodge Bighorn - Done!!!
landman replied to landman's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
On this one I was going to be brave and do some brake lines....until I realized it has no brakes. So I rand lines to the airbags instead using this sketch and a bit of artistic licence. -

Added a couple of crossmember to make up the torsional rigidity lost when the sleeper platform was cut off. -
Reassembly was progressing well until I broke the rear window trying to polish it. Had to make a new one.

Jim, best I can determine from reading several forums on the topic the one with the BigAl was ordered by Allis Chalmers themselves. -

Scott by changing just two letters, you'd get Big Hood. -
Very likely.

Started on the foil. Pulled up some paint. Either I'm burnishing too wide or it isn't cured or worse I have poor adherence. I'll give it a few more days.

Modified the Snap frame to accept the resin cab while maintaining reasonable height and centering the wheels in the fender openings. ended up having to remove the entire sleeper platform. Found a suitable location for the hood hinge. -
Someone asked me to identify this 4 cyl visible engine he has. I looked at tons of them on the web, but not this one. Iron Duke?

Looks like I might attempt to scratchbuild one. While looking on the web for photos etc., I came across a Big Al Facebook page.Turns out there was ONE Longhorn built with a BigAl. So Terry was right on the button when he said rare. -
Gave it another coat. This time Krylon.

Foiled the emblems then shot it with Duplicolor bright red. Had a run which I wiped off. Looks like it will be salvageable.

I would need some financial backup. -
My cousin brought me his 1955 Chrysler 300 asking if I could do something about his paint. It is a well built model with a hand brush paint job. It has been carefully dismantled, stripped and is now in primer.
