  1. Thanks Scott. I will try it with Orange Clear
  2. About 6 years ago, I read in one of the modeler mags about painting steering wheels and other interior items to look like wood. It combined I believe three different colors-possibly orange clear, red and "blank"! I am a senior styrene guy, and I just plain forgot. Can someone give me the names of the colors I need. Much obliged-cool in Texas
  3. Just came from HL a couple of hours ago and the following were seen: K.S. Pittman Willys, Sox & Martin cart, Judge funny car, 69 Camaro, Roadrunner, and a couple of Corvettes, a 65 Malibu 396 convertible, and a 56 Crown Victoria. All kits were for $14.95. This was at the Hl in Southpark Meadows, Austin Texas! Several of these items had more than one kit.
  4. In my accident, the center of the grill hit the tree, forming a perfect V the dash came back into my knees, the motor stayed put, but the tranny got knocked loose, with the competition shifter just showing the knob viewing it from the seat.
  5. I hit a telephone pole and pecan tree at about 40 mph as I was making a turn on rain slick streets. My face hit the steering wheel and cracked it in half, must've been when I bit the steering wheel. On impact my white t-shirt turned red. Been eating with rubber teeth ever since. That was in 1970 and the car was a 442, 345 hp and 4 speed.
  6. Hey guys just got back from HL. I managed to pick up 12 CANS of paint for $15.00!!!!, the regular price would've been close to $80.00. They were located in the Krylon paint case. I just happened to walk buy and see them. The salesgirl was gracious enough to let me take my time in selecting what I wanted. Then we went to the model car section, and I found more cans on clearance. As a happy ending I was not attacked by the supposed Jesus merchandise or any elevator music.
  7. The cashiers at HL here in Austin are pretty good at what they do. I got a shock when I was buying a Mustang kit a few years ago, and the cashier said "hey that's a good one, I have it at home".
  8. I bet you would've have been a good draft dodger blubber
  9. Been going to Hl for a long time, and have never been pushed by a Bible low life. Sure they have religious articles, and we all have a choice where we shop and what aisle to go down. Have you been using your glue and paint for things other than your kits. I will pray for you.
  10. You will find great kits on clearance, and check the paint section, you will find clearance items too. Your going for the models not the MUSIC!!!!
  11. I was 10 when I would be allowed to watch my brother build cars. We could rarely afford them. I didn't build my own til I got married and was able to afford to buy kits.i was around age 21. Then life happened, divorce, alcoholism, any thing that would hit the fan, I experienced it. I mention that I did a tour in RVN with the First Team in 1970. I started building again in 2008, then the woman I was married to started complaining, and threatening to go out dancing without me, if I didn't stop building. Guess what I am still building, and I see her every now and then, just by accident. I am in a relationship with a Lady from Costa Rica, and she supports this 62 year old "kid" in my hobby. She even picked out a Camaro she wanted built. She also helps me with body colors. I am proud to say I am 25 years sober, and I am a Army veteran, and if somebody doesn't like it-well lets talk about it. I can still turn 18. Keep building...
  12. Is that the Ford that is a two in one kit, with a black pro street type? I will go check my HL tomorrow. Thanks
  13. Have you thought about going to VA (visors anonymous), and getting a sponsor!
  14. Thanks Ace, will do as you advised. Adios from Texas
  15. Hey Scott to each his own, I will go with an American Product
  16. Hey Speedfreak, nice looking car, it turned out nice. I quess I will use that Krylon with a good primer.
  17. Ewan, thanks for the tips. Hey do you use other colors of krylon besides the Plastic Fusion?
  18. Hey guys, hope everybody is doing well. Okay, I am thinking about a couple of my upcoming builds, and I want to ask about paint. I got the Fusion on sale at HL. Is this stuff okay to use on a kit? It says no primer or sanding needed, not that I am lazy, just bought them to try out. I sure wouldn't want to ruin a kit. Has anybody experimented with this paint. Thanks
  19. Hey guys! I had a D.I. who told me that the only stupid question, is the one that isn't asked. Took that to heart, probably why I survived. Anyway, I have been trying to find Pledge With Future on the label. I can't find it. I see products, but none with that label. Can I use one that doesn't have that label. I saw a guy on Youtube using the kind I mentioned. Would appreciate your help. Happy Fathers Day to you Pops out there. Tmrrw I get a double burger-Fathers Day and my Birthday. Nice n cool here-mid 90's
  20. Gee, I am five miles away from Hobby Lobby. It's in the same place where HobbyTown is. Hey Deano, the kits were across from the "charms" section. They also had puzzles and other stuff around them on a three shelf piece. Birthday coming up, and I am asking for gift card from H.L.
  21. I had three people pull out in front of me on Friday. I honked at one lady, she and her friend then parked about 2o feet from me, looked at me like I was crazy, and they then went to Jason's deli for lunch. All three incidents in a parking lot. I mean you gotta hit the breaks or them! Sorry about Hobby Lobby not having those kits.
