  1. I saw the 65 Malibu Wagon(27.00) for (10.00) two 70 Mach 1's, three 69 Camaro convertibles. 69 Dodge Charger, 40 Ford, three Avanti kits, and three Foose Coronets.
  2. Words don't express the Love that went into that build! AWWWWWWWWSSSSSOOOOOMMMMEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
  3. Morning guys, this is my second report on the clearance action action, at Hobby Lobby, here in Austin. First of all it was the Foose Coronet. I hope I didn't mislead anyone. Second of all the kits in the clearance section have been reduced to around $8.50-$8.70!!! I am heading out in a while to get an armload. I bought an 2010 Camaro SS for the said price. I stashed a mustang, and hope to rope it soon.
  4. Hey George, I will go back and check on that Coronet.
  5. Thanks for the tips guys. the guy I bought it from probably had it stored improperly.
  6. Hey guys, I recently started building again. I started with a Nascar Ford Taurus. I bought it thru ebay. When it arrived the box was partly smashed and had been opened. I started having trouble when I was putting the rollcage together. The parts would not line up for assembly. I finally got it to stay together. Then it came time for the decals-they are about 3/4 length of the body. I got ready to apply them, and when I attempted to put them on the side of the car, they began to tear apart. I used a decal solution, so I am thinking maybe the decals might have aged. The small ones were easy to do. Needless to say, no more Nascar kits for a while.
  7. When my son (now 36) was a little past 1 year old he called my kits Boot-Boots! yeah just like a car motor...Have a blast. In fact my son and grandson will be in DC this holiday weekend, and I will be in Texas waiting for my obligatory tee...
  8. Just got back from Hobby Lobby with my fiancé. She was looking at bracelet charms. I am standing there trying to look interested, when I turn around and there is a stack of kits on clearance! Mustangs from the 70s', 2010 Z28s, 68 Coronet. Then I see it a Pro Stock 67 Chevelle, and a Chevelle Pro Stock Wagon. $13.00 bucks a piece. Got em both. Glad I stopped there instead of Hobby Town...
  9. I am buying the SWC version of the kit tomorrow. I looked on line and the details indicated the PE grill. Gonna paint mine Grabber Orange.
  10. My first car was a 1965 Olds 442 convertible, 345 HP, posi-trac, and a Hurst 4 Speed. My brother drove it home from the carlot. By the way I paid $995 for it in 1969. I learned how to drive it by backing it out of the driveway and pulling back in! I was a 17 year old hotshot(right). This weekend was a blast a buddy of mine has on 08 Z-Vette, and we went cruising in the hill country west of Austin, lots of curves, which we took at 90 mph, and at one point we were doing 130 on a straight a way! My neck snapped a few times when my buddy hit them gears. I Love that stuff...
  11. I go to a placed called Hobby Town (Locally owned). I go during the week, it's less hassle driving than on the weekends. I have never seen more than 4 customers while I am there. I usually just buy paints, as I can get I can get kits online $5-7 cheaper. I am on a limited hobby budget, hence, I go that route.
  12. Didn't have as many hobby shops in Austin, Texas in the 60's. One place can't remember, it was a locally owned place, and it was about the size of an average bedroom. But we would head down there on Saturdays. He didn't have much selection-I recall my older brother buying a 64 Lincoln model there! The other place was near the campus of Texas University. It was called Toy City, it had all kinds of toys in addition to model kits. I recall being sent by my brother to get him a 66 Galaxie kit. The thing I remember about that is that Charles Whitman was in the tower that same day I was at the store. They are long long gone, but I still remember. Thanks for a memory walk.
  13. After a lay off of 4 years I am building again. My second childhood...
