  1. Billy Joel, Allentown.
  2. Smoke on the Water, DP.
  3. I don't have experience with that particular brand/model but that price is about right for a usable-quality product. With 40% off I don't think you can go wrong.
  4. I've been using an Optivisor for detail work for over a decade now. I literally couldn't build anymore without it. IMine's not lighted but if I ever felt the need, I guess I could duck-tape a couple penlights to the thing. I can't imagine trying to use one of desktop thingies and having to wrestle everything I work on under that. One warning about the Optivisor (or similar): It takes some getting used to. You might have trouble focusing, or resolving the two images in your brain, or even get dizzy a little at first. But stick with it and your brain and eyes will learn how to handle it and before you know it you'll be putting it on and making the transisitions instantly and unconsciously.
  5. Yup. Although I think Carrie Underwood pretty much stole it back on season 4 of American Idol.
  6. Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing Let the whole world know that today is a day of reckoning Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay
  7. Is there a website that illustrates the detail differences between the '65-'69 Corvairs? I hate to say it, but they all look alike to me, except for the obvious side marker lights on the '68 and '69.
  8. Very nice! What's the paint/color?
  9. It's Car Craft and they're still doing it. It's the same basic story month after month after month. Only the make and model of the car changes.
  10. They don't pass it four times, they show it four times. The downhill chase was done once, and shot from multiple cameras inside and outside the cars. The editing makes it look like they came down hills two or three times. That's why/how the Charger loses so many hubcaps. It actually only loses two, but you see more than that come off.
  11. I'd at least give it a look. But if that unfunny Trosley is a major contributor, I'll prolly give it a pass. He basically only has one story, which I grew tired of a couple years ago.
  12. I didn't mention that tune. ;-)
  13. Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker), George Clinton/Parliament.
  14. Most bellytankers were built with the big P-38 tanks. No one makes a 1/24 P-38, and the common 75-gallon P-51 tank is much too small. I believe someone does the proper tank in 1/24-5 in resin, though.
  15. Not the best pic but the only one I have of a washer tank. The one in my '67 Chevelle is much better.
  16. Nice! A few years ago the warbird Panchito flew so low over my house that I thought all the windows were gonna rattle right out of the walls. You can cut down on the nose weight on this kit by taking a Dremel to the inside of everything aft of the main gear--fuselage, stabilizer, fins. That much weight in the nose will eventually bend your landing gear. Been there done that.
  17. AMT '55 Nomad?
  18. The kid who won American Idol last year could step right in and sing lead for them--or any other '70s or '80s band with the possible exception of Queen. And he might even be able to do Queen.
  19. The one I did, I painted the bottom half of the bottle with MM Chrysler Engine blue, and then I airbrushed a VERY light coat of flat white over the whole bottle. The effect came out quite nice looking.
  20. The resin must have some kind of mold release still on it. I've never noticed any problem with masking tape on clean, degreased resin.
  21. Zep, Black Dog.
  22. Roof puts me in mind of a shortened '53 Stude roof. In fact, I've been thinking about trying to turn a '53 Stude into a sports car, or sporty car, and this thing gives me some ideas.
  23. The 4 Tops version was a bigger hit in my area.
  24. I've never used polishing pads. I've done some sanding with #1500 or #2000 grit Wetordry sandpaper, wet. The TRIM brand nail polishing boards sold at Walmart are great, too. Most of my polishing has been done with Wright's Silver Cream, available in the housecleaning stuff section of Walmart (just bought a new tub yesterday).
