on small detail parts ive started using rustoleum 2x, its a paint and a primer, the finish isnt 100% but aslong as you give the car a light weathering it looks great, and you get to be lazy with only one coat of paint

how did you do the rust?

so i've had this body on my work bench almost a year now, trying to come up with the perfect name for it so i can get a fire under me to start it. hopefully you guys can give me a hand to get me started. My current name for it, that i'm liking more and more is "Silent Scream" and anyone who was in there 20's in1988 and had big hair better know where that name comes from. if you are not from that time period, Silent Scream was a Anti Abortion video that came out in 1984 then the metal band Slayer made a song about the same thing. and being that ford killed Edsel right from the start it fits. but want some input or other possible ideas. some of my other ideas that i shot down were "prom night dumpster baby" never finalized into a name but something to do with "lemon" or taking the amt's edsel funny car name of "unreal" Note: not my pic, just too lazy to go take a picture of a unstarted resin body for this thread, but its the same car

ive been on here for a few months now, not posting just looking at posts but I guess its time introduce myself. Hi I'm Erik I've only been building model cars for about two years. But I've been into model railroading my whole life (modeling the akron branch of the penn central between hudson and akron ohio) I got into cars as a kind of stress free modeling subject so typically I dont super detail any of my builds. I just use them as a break when I get cross eyed from modeling n scale (1:160). I pretty much only build vintage dragsters (50s-70s) and a few rat rods or dirt cars mixed in. The pic is my desk at work... And yes I know tom's rail is a diecast not a model
