  1. As you know already, Hank's site is a source of unlimited inspiration for truck modelers. I see trucks on that site I may never see in my lifetime, most notably, Euro trucks and antique trucks. I have so many truck ideas based on them in my mind, I may never get to all of them. Especially at the rate I'm going.
  2. Looks like a Payhualer I saw in Florida a couple of years ago.
  3. Italeri kits are great! I have encountered only two issues with Italeri truck kits. Firstly unlike the old AMT, Ertl and Revell kits, the cabs need to be built up from panels. Care needs to be exercised at this step. This actually results in more accurate cabs, no warpage. The second is that Italeri doesn’t offer more North American truck subjects.
  4. "I have never seen a real Autocar twin steer truck before"
  5. With all due respect, in one ear and out the other. I have corresponded with every model company, especially the ones that put out big rigs over the last twenty five years or so. For the most part, they will produce a truck if it has to do with a car. But nice to have young guys keep the hope alive.
  6. Nice build. I hate to rain on your parade but, the difficulty will arise when you install the engine in a truck. I found that out when I built the Clint Freeman Detroit Diesel Series 60 and put it in to a Italeri FLD 120. The turbo may have to be moved, air to air connections are fiddly and the oil pan may have to be turned around and the engine mounts are tricky. Just some advice.
  7. I took a ton of pictures to replicate this engine. I have several brochures as well as tech manuals. Unfortunately, they are boxed away. Car Modeler Magazine had an article detailing a 8V92N & 8V92TA engine. How close is that? http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca...may_1991_detro/
  8. Ok, I used Clint Freeman's wheels for this model. They were scaled for the Italeri truck kits (1/24th). These are 5 hole steel wheels, but he offered 2 hole steel wheels also. They were the best reproduction I have ever seen of these wheels. Unfortunately Clint stopped selling 2 years ago and the wheels were discontinued 5 or 6 years ago. Dave Natale purchased the old Jim Etter AIM line and has been expanding the offerings quite regularly. He plans to offer some wheels. Check out his site. http://www.aitruckmodels.com/pages/news.html
