  1. I could see this thing hauling scrap out of Gary!
  2. Did you custom make the grill. You can see right thru it. Is it metal?
  3. I have a bunch of Clint Freeman stiuff, but not as much as want. I have a tag axle I can spare BUT, only if you can trade me a set of the Clint Freeman 1/24th scale two or five hole wheels.
  4. Excellent! A well worn AMT Fruehauf flatbed trailer would look nice with these tractors.
  5. Tim, what engine would be correct for thiis model?
  6. I purchased this Peterbilt 362 after market kit from Australia about 5 or 6 years ago. Combined with the Monogram 1/16th scale Peterbilt 359 it appears to build in to a good model. I will build it eventually. I also have three 1/16th scale engines. A Cummins NTC 350/400, Detroit Diesel 8V92N and a Caterpillar 3406 T/A. What is the proper engine for a prototype 362.
  7. Maybe something was lost in the translation, for the third time!
  8. We discussed this back in February when it was announced at the German toy and hobby trade show on the Yahoo Dutch model truck forum. Some speculated that is was a rehashed Italeri 377 with the Revell Century wrecker body. Italeri also announced a Euro dump trailer and the Iveco Stralis. Release dates will probably be early 2008. This is a Los Angeles County wrecker. Looks like a 377 to me, what do you think Tim?
  9. You can custom order plastic sheet from Evergreen or Plastruct. They will cut any size you need.
  10. As you know already, Hank's site is a source of unlimited inspiration for truck modelers. I see trucks on that site I may never see in my lifetime, most notably, Euro trucks and antique trucks. I have so many truck ideas based on them in my mind, I may never get to all of them. Especially at the rate I'm going.
  11. Looks like a Payhualer I saw in Florida a couple of years ago.
  12. Italeri kits are great! I have encountered only two issues with Italeri truck kits. Firstly unlike the old AMT, Ertl and Revell kits, the cabs need to be built up from panels. Care needs to be exercised at this step. This actually results in more accurate cabs, no warpage. The second is that Italeri doesn’t offer more North American truck subjects.
  13. "I have never seen a real Autocar twin steer truck before"
  14. With all due respect, in one ear and out the other. I have corresponded with every model company, especially the ones that put out big rigs over the last twenty five years or so. For the most part, they will produce a truck if it has to do with a car. But nice to have young guys keep the hope alive.
  15. Nice build. I hate to rain on your parade but, the difficulty will arise when you install the engine in a truck. I found that out when I built the Clint Freeman Detroit Diesel Series 60 and put it in to a Italeri FLD 120. The turbo may have to be moved, air to air connections are fiddly and the oil pan may have to be turned around and the engine mounts are tricky. Just some advice.
  16. I took a ton of pictures to replicate this engine. I have several brochures as well as tech manuals. Unfortunately, they are boxed away. Car Modeler Magazine had an article detailing a 8V92N & 8V92TA engine. How close is that? http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca...may_1991_detro/
  17. Ok, I used Clint Freeman's wheels for this model. They were scaled for the Italeri truck kits (1/24th). These are 5 hole steel wheels, but he offered 2 hole steel wheels also. They were the best reproduction I have ever seen of these wheels. Unfortunately Clint stopped selling 2 years ago and the wheels were discontinued 5 or 6 years ago. Dave Natale purchased the old Jim Etter AIM line and has been expanding the offerings quite regularly. He plans to offer some wheels. Check out his site. http://www.aitruckmodels.com/pages/news.html
