  1. I made a little gas cap out of brass for the rear deck Got the nerve to drill the pin holes into the finished body and properly set up the windscreen positioning. Now it will sit on its own and I can adjust the base tighter. Chrome ‘granny bar’ for the passenger side out of solder and Molotow paint
  2. That is a really nice 427. My dainty 289 is going to be a little less aggressive so the Borannis and narrower tires will work Still some scratching to do for missing bits. I do not have your clean touch for messing with with styrene so will use brass or aluminum
  3. Hmm good thinking. Will go raid the kid’s art stuff?
  4. Thanks very much to you both Going to work hard on the brass/copper windscreen as I think that will look sweet Have made some some headlight bezels, but the actual clear glass is going to be the hard part as I haven't found round clear scrap big enough yet
  5. Splash 2k clear coat done today. That’l do pig, that’l do Now I can mess with the two windscreens and not scratch the paint as easily
  6. Ok, send them right over
  7. Back working on this again The Fujimi kit’s windscreen is too wide for this mould and it is thick and bulky I have roughed out two windscreens...styrene and a brass one. Both have their issues and may just work them both fully up. To me the plastic is too tall and the passenger bend is off. Needs more angulation as well. I am not good at styrene bending/forming The brass has good angulation, just needs more hood curve on the copper section to get the corners down This is what I am after Thoughts??
  8. What would you estimate this car is worth??? I see some pretty high numbers when I ask Google that question
  9. Thank you my apologies, I did not mean to hijack your thread it must have been a wonderful day trip; nice car, nice weather???
  10. I just swapped out the tires from the Fujimi kit with the Boranni tires. It looks much better with a smaller less aggressive tire tread Took a good peruse at what is left to make for the Cobra and just tucked it back away into its container for now?
  11. They are Boranni wire wheels from Fujimi ..I think it was The tires are a bit wide but such is life. The WIP is on here somewhere , will look here it is:
  12. I only got a little one like that I am working on Saving those sweet pics for reference though
  13. Really nice Remember this from all the re-runs as a kid
  14. Oh that is cool. Keep me in the loop and maybe we can have a meet up. I am a Kamloops boy originally
  15. Hi Brian, thanks for the kind words. Yes, this yellow totally changes the bike. I am usually not a big yellow fan, but this one really popped All fairings have magnetic inserts so can easily come on and off and the livery markings are a combination of kit decals, grey stripe is pin striping tape and the yellow wheel stripe is also pin striping. I had to steal the larger Ducati decal from my Tricolore kit, but that one is going to be in the cool Martini colours and decal set
  16. Cheers Jim. It is a fantastic kit if you ever get the notion to build one
  17. Tamiya’s wonderful 1/12 Ducati Panigale kit in a slightly different than normal livery
  18. Oh shoot, I gotta check my Repsol Honda paint ...the one and only time I ordered from Gravity USA and had to do the PAYPAL refund to get the shipment sent. Never again. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me
  19. Oh Sweet!! This is one of Tamiya's best car kits, literally falls together. Really looking forward to seeing this livery, excellent choice
  20. Sweet work. Absolutely flawless
  21. Cheers Codi I would use photo etch buckles, but didn't have any 1/16 scale ones....it is bit weird of a scale apparently. So I had to make do with what I had. As many a true Canadian can attest, we are born with hockey tape wrapped around the umbilical chord, so it's multifaceted use comes second nature
  22. Thank you very much for the kind comments and for looking in on this build The blue going over will be Tamiya's Clear blue...probably three light coats at least. Then a 2k clear with Splash. I have just finished my Gravity 2k clear which worked well but won't order more from Spain until this virus craziness blows over. If you ask why not use Gravity USA paints, you have not dealt with the owner.
