  1. Thanks for bumping this topic up...I totally missed Randy's magic on this project WOW is a good start for words; you make it look so easy, I couldn't be that detailed at 1/16 or 1/8 scale soldering brass parts. WOW Love to see you make up a Singer Porsche 911
  2. Really awesome Just love the black paint
  3. Cheers Jerry. So far so good
  4. This is Coco recovering well from surgery to her tummy. Pretty big mass removed She is a wonderful lively goofball otherwise and a lot of fun. Truly the love of my life You guys make me feel lucky my girl is still battling and so far winning against cancer So sorry to hear of anyone having to lose their best friend, but I also know my time for losing her is coming
  5. Nice work
  6. This is my $20 local estate auction find over Easter weekend. 1/8 scale Monogram '65 Corvette She has had some front end and right fender damage so I won't sell it now and have begun some repairs with softened styrene before body filler Size comparison pic vs a 1/24 Tamiya Mercedes
  7. She is getting close to being done. Last detail bits, tubings, wiring, number plates, glue on tank and seat....oh hell I am miles from finished ?
  8. Thanks! It isn’t all that hard once you get set up and follow the pattern
  9. Happy Easter! Husky is up on her own two wheels now, shocks are re-made and both wheels have brass rod through them Everything on the running gear is cemented or screwed on and the kickstand works
  10. Thank You! Once you get the rhythm and are organized, it isn’t hard to re-spoke. Simple jig to hold it in place, work your way around the rim It just cleans up the wheel so much
  11. So another really weak bit on this kit is the kick stand. I know I broke that as a kid. So, re-engineered one from brass stock and tube plus a flat and soldered it all up. Attached with a screw so the stand can be raised or lowered.
  12. Front rim attachment to the forks. I am re-enforcing it all with brass rod and a brass shim inside the rim
  13. Oh what a nice thing to say...you just made my day. Thank you Tony??? Dead on about memories, this kit was produced in 1976...I was nine and probably made a disaster of it at about age 10. That is a long time ago The good thing is I remember the weaknesses, so can hopefully strengthen the frame up a bit
  14. A shaky dry fit and she is up on her wheels...kinda sorta like a baby giraffe Fork neck post re-enforced with threaded brass
  15. Final collage photo. She is tucked away in my cabinet at work now
  16. Got half of the front rim re-spoked Friday night after work
  17. Yes that is it. Mine is an older version but still very useful
  18. MotoJig I think it was called off eBay...I will have a peek when I get home It is a bit pricey, but awesome if you build bikes
  19. I built this kit as a kid, love the box art and am a sucker to try again...with some new skills The frame is wimpy and the spokes are ok but a bit thick. So I will re-spoke the wheels and may need to beef up the frame with brass??
  20. Cheers Dan...just a fun side project
