  1. Cheers, thank you I am trying and learning along the way, hard knocks and all
  2. Yes. Indeed I thought those were the exhaust ports the detail on this engine is soft and I am missing a lot of stuff to it..oil pan, intake manifold, valve covers. the easy route is to stick in the nova engine and go from there, but it is soft detail too and then I ruin that kit. ? Bite bullet and buy an entire 327 stl file?? I prefer buying stl files and printing myself as the size and quality of other finished 3D printed parts is not perfect and I have no leeway to adjust stuff if I don’t have the file. This is why I wanted a cheap ‘30 starter kit, to spend a bit on details
  3. When you get a file from the internet, you don’t known what dimensions and what ‘scale’ they are using I have no idea what this will look like so print out variations 10% apart scaled up and down and see what works. The benefit of printing yourself vs a dealer of finished parts. Also I found the four speed Wagner file last night
  4. A bit more printing done, some engine/ transmission dilemmas I will usually print three or four scales to get a part correct, but this transmission is still LONG! This is the Nova engine/trans in comparison Most of my carbs failed and I only got the smallest ones to print. This is siting on the 327 display block from the Nova kit…nice but no oil pan for it😡
  5. Oh cool! Didn’t see this pop up on builds until now. Following along for sure 👍🏻😎
  6. Fender options and transmission/ carbs are printing
  7. Working on fenders right now Have some motorcycle ones for the fronts to chop up The rears are quite a bit harder from flat styrene or metal sheet stock….double curves and all 😵‍💫
  8. Polished Aluminum sheet metal
  9. Thanks man! it is a bit oversized so you can grab and use it
  10. Made a metal handle for its bum lid
  11. Working on a new window frame Version 2 is in brass and I am on the second rendition as the first was measured on the window glass and way too big for the car’s actual opening. Attempt 1 too big attempt #2 a bit smaller still some refining
  12. Shot some colour while the weather was drier. First layers of Tamiya XF-3 50-50 with Mr Hobby MLT. Some goobers and rough spots to get out before coat two and then the 2K clear will shine that flat yellow right up. It’s a cross between piss yellow and puke green I may take another run at those rear window areas now I can see the flaws so much better in yellow
  13. Pretty much all in primer and ready to go colour. Tend to do Tamiya XF with lacquer thinner and then an2k clear. Was looking at some mixes I did for another model with a CAT yellow/orange. Nope too dark. about as smooth as I am gotta get this. Will let the primer harden up overnight at least.
  14. Some black primer interior and roof Got my stagnant air brushes working better now
  15. Some wheel options I think the kit ones are the best (first) but I love the fat racing slicks
  16. That video doesn’t mention brakes Google says front disks and rear drums
  17. ? Movie car have disk brakes front and drums rear? or all drums 🤔
  18. Hi Steve. Yes, I found the Cults carbs’ stl file but not one for the man a free manifold. I could buy a finished resin engine for another $28 USD with that manifold but would rather have the stl file so I can tweak the size to fit properly
  19. I have the Molotow pens and refill so that is an option. But, They seem to have faded in their chrome with time in the pens. Also are very fragile to touch for quite some time when you use them.
  20. Smidge of light grey primer to check smoothness of mods on bottom half
  21. That was Bare Metal Foil chrome …which wasn’t too chromey. I was just testing the firewall and people’s patience for inaccuracies. Likely will use something more mirror- like.
  22. Engine cowl’s thick styrene seam removed, firewall trimmed thinner and sanded to sit more flush, thin styrene flange added, side detail bead filled in, one door hinge removed, start of angled windshield supports. Rear window is already oval, I am not touching the door height. These are the ‘30 to ‘32 mods.
  23. Lots of body mods coming Stay tuned
