    Exactly. I am working with what I have, what was available to me If I didn’t show the kit, nobody would have known. An exact replica is impossible, I have not seen one, though I have a decent 1:1 build reference and even that isn’t identical. Running boards and fender flares will be needed. I think the grill will be the same but will research that. There is not much body difference which is why I went this way and the 30 kit was easily available.

    Now the dry fit of top to bottom to body and some slight file work to get level And then the glue up

    So I have chopped the top 2mm all around with an Tamiya tape guide Established a kerf cut with a razor saw at the tape markings separated the bottom portion off, still with its attatchment points to the lower past of the body then cut the upper kerf lines through to separate the top

    My starting points are a ‘30 model A Revell kit that was avaliable for reasonable cost and a 66 Nova pro stock I am hoping to use engine and tires This is my starting point for a somewhat reasonable cost. I may have to do a 3D resin print engine if the Nova isn’t decent.

    I am going to make a start building this. It will be a smash up of a few things from different kits as I don’t have the actual movie car kit from Revell I think it was. So research shows it is a model A body with a Chevy 327 V8 engine inside

    Back to the drawing board…err 3D printer. The resin spark plugs I did are way off dimension. These look like more exhaust ports! I will third the scale and try again

    Got some Abteilung oil paints on half price sale from AK Interactive They ship super fast, but as usual get dinged by taxes intoCanada if you haven’t tried, using oils works excellent for simulating a leather interior

    Yes. Metal frame, but body is plastic unfortunately. This is a late production Pocher so they were doing more plastic parts

    I have more kits than brains or lifetime left to build them all, but this new year I decided to do the opposite of restraining and not buying kits I am going to fill in the missing holes of kits I want in collections so, a couple Tamiya F1 1/20 scale cars are coming….the first and I got the old repop‘d Orange Crate kit to see if I can build it better than a pre teen did way back long ago

    Ahh Piper Emergency surgery just before Christmas for eating a hunk of towel and lodging it into her stomach/small intestine Homer donut for a week but she bounced back quickly despite a cold shaved tummy in the snow

    I usually get myself a big self spoiling kit at Christmas for myself as family does not. This year, just some new nuts and a Lightning McQueen

    Aaahhh I am so late to the party here Just loving everything you are doing, especially the in progress work photos with the car on jacks and such…so cool Digging out my kit’s photos…I got a Fujimi 356 from an auction and inside it came with James Dean’s 550 Spyder car body as well Also the larger classy Revell kit
