  1. OK, fellas, here we go. At long last it seems I may have my major painting issues worked out (I had all sorts of problems), so I'm tackling my second Vicky. Here's a shot of the kit I'll be using.
  2. One more post, and then I think it'll be time to move onto a WIP. Body was prepped and primered Sunday, painted yesterday, then three coats of clear added today;... tomorrow I polish!
  3. That's too funny, Tom. The "painting yourself into a corner" mindset at work.
  4. Very classy, Steve, as usual.
  5. I had forgotten all about this, but one company I worked at, in order to try and appease everyone, had a special room built inside, with huge negative pressure fans running all the time, and the smokers had to go in there to indulge. Oddly enough, the room had huge windows, so it was like being in a zoo.
  6. Looks splendid. I've always liked the Charger.
  7. Oh yes, I smoked in every office I ever worked in, up until my last position, mostly because my boss (owner/president) had lung issues.
  8. I recall a special room (with dark windows) being built in an office I used to work in, Mike. It was used to house the computer workstations for the AutoCAD guys. They kept it like a meat locker in there. How's that for a trip down memory lane?
  9. My process so far has been the essence of simplicity,... determine what color/colors it's going to be, and that's pretty much it.
  10. Very, very nice.
  11. Looks great. I really like the colors and all that chrome.
  12. That color looks great.
  13. While I pursue none of these hobbies extensively, I do collect coins (Silver Eagles, Morgans, NGC graded/slabbed coins), John Deere “stuff”, '60's comic books (mostly war related), both 1984 and Slow Death magazines, and toys from when I was a kid. Aside from these, my major passion (addiction) is,… books. Mostly, but not all of a military nature, and at present I have way more than makes sense or is even remotely sane.
  14. Those old LS weapons are very cool. I had the .357 Colt Python and P.08, as well as the P.38. I still intend to add the grenade sets to my stash too, some day.
  15. I really like those Anglias'. Very nice.
  16. Thanks, Tom, I really appreciate it. I know it's not yet up to the level that many here attain, but it's a real good beginning, I think.
  17. Dump those old pens in a good ultrasonic cleaner, Harry, that'll fix them right up. Though I don't have one at the moment, they're also wonderful for cleaning airbrushes. I used those old Leroy lettering guides for years, and they were time consuming, no doubt about it. (I suggested to my old boss that after I'd comfortably made the transition to AutoCAD, my output had increased six fold, so we should split the difference, with him paying me three times as much. He was,... "amused".)
  18. Wow, the name Rapidograph (Koh-I-Noor), certainly brings back some memories, Harry. I had my own set for years (in addition to the standard adjustable nib devices), to use in my earlier drafting/design days. In fact I just recently got rid of them, and now of course wish I hadn't. I spotted a complete set of old Leroy lettering machine/guides on an auction site the other day. So many fond memories.
  19. I think I'm starting to get a handle on it now, fellas, so again, thanks for all the help. Below are two photos I just took of my '32 Vicky fenders, one with a flash to show all that cool sparkle (clear coated, but not yet polished).
  20. Years ago, I worked for a professional photography outfit as the development machines technician. If ever I were to smell developers, baths and fixes again, I'm absolutely sure I'd be teleported back to that lab (in my mind), as it was a remarkable experience for me. They photographed tons of stuff, from food to stereo equipment to cars, and had a huge cyc wall for the purpose. With different lighting setups, they could create a myriad of cool effects. I loved it.
  21. Yep, it's a twice a year event, and from what I recall, usually quite nice. I may or not be going in October, but I'll certainly be there in May next year.
  22. OK, well I'm working on another Vicky now (screwed up the first one pretty bad), and I think I'll be using the wheel cover "as is", so thanks a ton for all the input, I appreciate it immensely.

OK, thanks, Rudy. (I'll have to put one on my "to hunt down" list.)
