  1. Interesting that you say colors are not factory correct, as almost nothing that I'll ever build will be factory correct, but that's perfectly fine with me. Looking good so far.
  2. Did you have anything entered, Pat? There has been only one local IPMS event that I've missed since 1989, and it's because I forgot all about it.
  3. Mostly group shots, as I was really pressed for time, and just couldn't photo every single car.
  4. Thanks. (I was beginning to wonder if anyone ever came to this area of the site.) It was a real good time, and there were many more car models there than what I've featured here.
  5. I saw that same Willys this Saturday at our regional here (built by Paul I think, or possibly a guy that builds a lot of lowrider stuff), and it was gorgeous. I have no idea if it placed or not, as I had to leave before judging was finished.
  6. Seems like a long time ago already. A sad day, for sure.
  7. Looks real nice.
  8. Looks real good so far.
  9. Saturday was the IPMS region 5 event, hosted by our own Gateway IPMS club. Turnout was very good, and there were some very fine examples of car modeling present.
  10. Thanks, Allan. I use BMF, then filled in with Tamiya black, wiping off the excess with a rag: far from perfect, but perfectly acceptable for this model. I'll do better next time,... I hope.
  11. Finally, all the foiling is finished (I've opted not to try the hood scoops on this model, I'd only mess it up), and I'm ready to move onto the interior and frame. I hope to have this finished in the next two weeks or so, as i have another project to wrap up before October 25th.
  12. This looks excellent. I like the chrome on the hood, but I'm not sure I have the guts (or steady hands) to do it.
  13. Why don't you just drag them off your computer like I've resorted to doing? The attach from URL thing, still gives me the wheel of death.
  14. Yep, drafting cloth, drafting linen, same thing. It's very good stuff, and I suspect it was withdrawn as a consequence of its expense. I encountered my batch at an old factory that was built in the 40's for manufacturing war materials, though I'd also seen it in many older engineering facilities. Most of the original architectural and structural drawing files for the facility were still housed on-site, and the storeroom contained a fairly large quantity of the old drawing cloth, so my supervisor gave me access to some for my personal use.
  15. While I certainly appreciate the gesture very much, for this particular model I won't bother. I just want to get it wrapped up and on the shelf, hopefully learning a few things along the way. If I ever do another 1:20 AMX, you'll certainly hear from me. Thanks,
  16. It's good stuff, real good stuff. Takes leads like you wouldn't believe, erases easily (with no ghosting), and is every bit as strong as mylar;... dimensionally stable too.
  17. Where Eagles Dare is another good one. Hard to go wrong with Clint and Richard Burton.
  18. Is it here in this section? I looked, but don't recall seeing it. And I really prefer the Henschel suspension on the Jagdtiger and turret (Krupp?) on the King Tiger, just a personal thing really.
  19. Yea, the side markers. Are those just reflectors, or actual lights? Just curious. And thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it.
  20. I hadn't realized that kit could also be built stock: I'll be grabbing a couple now. Thanks.
  21. Still playing with the (not so nice passenger side), adding some chrome and washes. For reasons I don’t understand, there are no rear courtesy lights, though front lights are molded on. Strange.
  22. Wood portions look real good to me.
