  1. Yea, the horn as supplied in the kit, is pretty lame, Tom. I'll doctor it up the best that I can.
  2. Indeed it is,... just gorgeous.
  3. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks, Jeesh, looks excellent. So many possibilities.
  4. I may have to try this some day, but for the moment I have my hands full just trying to build a new kit.
  5. I'm considering several possibilities for paint on future projects, including candies over other colors. The idea really appeals to me. I should be able to drop the front as you suggest, so I thank you for that suggestion. The front end is glued solid, but I can chop it loose and redo it if need be. Thanks for that, Thomas. I'm very much hoping to improve my finishes over time, but for the moment I'm quite pleased, especially given all the problems I've had in the last few months.
  6. Very nice. I still can't believe how fast some of you guys are at building these.
  7. This looks so nice. I have such a long way to go.
  8. I like 'em both.
  9. Yep, no photo's, just the kitten.
  10. I like this a lot.
  11. They certainly look good to me. I have the old MPC Star Destroyer laying around here somewhere.
  12. I believe it's the only book I have that's specifically dedicated to Iwo.
  13. I found the hood from my first (mangled) Vic, and to my relief, it's almost the exact same color density, so that's a good thing.
  14. It's Testors Wet Look, straight from the can, then polished. Looks OK?
  15. Thanks, Tom, I appreciate it. Did you bore out the front of the horn on yours? Mine is molded solid. Thanks, Wayne. Apparently I made an error and the rear can easily be dropped some, for a more natural sit. Once I verify that, I'll shoot some more photos.
  16. I'm going to say it's impossible. I wish I had a different answer for you.
  17. I had intended to grab a set of AMT Polyglas tires for this, but with the ride height being what it is, I may not bother now, waiting instead until I build the next one. Is this other kit of the Vicky any different? Anybody know?
  18. This is somewhat strange,... box stock, this thing seems to ride real high. There doesn't seem to be a lot of wiggle room for adjusting height, so I may just have to live with it on this one. I'll be doing three or four more Vicky kits, so perhaps I can figure out how to drop the body/fenders on those.
  19. Actually, the kit comes with three complete sets of wheels, those depicted on the box art, the ones from my photo above, and a set of Chrome mags that I'm considering using.
  20. Interesting project. I'll be eyeballing, for sure.
  21. Ambitious. It'll be interesting to see where this ends up.
  22. All in all, I think it looks quite nice.
  23. Thanks, fellas. Nick, the roof panel (and rubber portion of running boards) will be flat black.
  24. Thank goodness the bodies I trashed weren't from expensive kits. I suspect it's just cheaper (and certainly easier in the long run) to just get new kits.
  25. Thanks a bunch, fellas, I certainly appreciate the thoughts. Up until today, even though I’d “seen” these colors together in my mind, I’d never actually put them together,… odd. Now that I have, my concerns have been alleviated, as I think it really works. Thoughts?
