  1. I got myself a 1989 Tamiya kit, and a bottle of Tamiya super thin glue.
  2. Here's the Unimog that my dad built, from which the cab came from!
  3. Thanks Bob, yeah this is a nice project for me, the styrene sheets are pretty new for me to work with, so I'm exploring the possibilities a lot here, along with my engineering and building skills! Thanks Richard!
  4. I have no idea where it's going to be honest, so I'm more or less just following along too... I'm thinking about either making it something lowrider-ish, or something similar to the Engineered to Slide Hilux. Either way, it's going to be low, thats a promise! //Bumblebi
  5. The mockups where transfered into 0.5 mm styrene, shich I glued on to the Uni cab to have a pickup cab with a frontend.. Some of the styrene has been double layered so as to get 1.0 mm styrene sheets for a more rigid part, and there is some bracing on the inside so the sheets doesn't flex. I'll start making the interior and floor, but I'll have to modify a few things on the cab, so the interior is not glued in permanently until it's painted... And after that I'll start with the frame, which I'm thinking about making out a piece of cardboard which styrene sheets are glued around so it's sturdy and won't break. //Bumblebi
  6. Hi guys! I decided to challenge myself to build a pickup truck from the ground up... I have no idea if Ill succeed, but I'll give it a try. Before I go into detail of the build, a small sidestory which led up to this project: My dad started building a Unimog firetruck 20+ years ago, and the cab and chassis of the kit was damaged when he got it, so obviously, he mailed the company and they sent him another cab and chassis. He kept the damaged parts and built the Uni with the new parts, I'll see if I can get some pics of it some day. A few years ago, i got my hands on these parts, and earlier this March, I decided to fix them up. Here's the cab after some reinforcements and the broken parts fixed... Since I now had a nice cab but no kit to use it with, I decided to build a car from the ground up, using the cab as a start. Some mock ups in paper, along with the wheels and wheelbase I'm going to use.. The frame is the one from the Uni, and that is a bit too short and a bit out of shape since that was damaged as well, so I'll make a new one out of styrene. More...
  7. Thanks Dan, yeah it's a bit different here it seems. Makes it a bit more fun to show
  8. Today I put the final touches on the Mini. It turned out pretty good, although there were some mishaps. But overall it looks good!
  9. Today I got my first large scale model, a MPC 1/16 Richard Petty Dodge Charger '73... I managed to get 10% off of the price on this one and I'm pretty satisfied so far. ..And an Airfix 1/32 VW 1200 which I'll build for my girlfriend who loves the old VW Bug. On this one, I managed to get 50% off, so it was a real catch, and hopefully it'll be a fun little build!
  10. Cool project, I'll be following it for sure! The life of the Olsen Gang Impala sounds pretty similar to Jönssonligans Impala '63/64 (for non-Scandiavians, Jönssonligan is a Swedish copy of the Olsen Gang), quite interesting actually
  11. This is one seriously badass machine, cant wait to see the finished model! OffT: If I'm not mistaken, the P34's first race was at Scandianvian Raceway here in Sweden, which is only 5 km from my hometown.. proud as hell
  12. Thanks alot for that advice, will certainly do that, and thanks for the nice words Indeed! Thanks alot
  13. Finally, I've been able to paint the body of the Mini Cooper, and it turned out pretty good actually, considering I haven't painted a body with spraycans since 2006 if I recall right... Started painting some details on the body itself, turned out pretty good for being the first layer... Got the windows and some other small details first-layer-painted too, and the roof is on too.
  14. Your diorama looks awesome, and I thought I recognized it, and sure enough, I've read your article on Speedhunters several times now! You're most likely the one that's gotten me back to building 1/24 models!
  15. One movie mistake I just love is in one of the earlier James Bond movies, where he drive in through a narrow ally on two wheels, and when he comes out of the ally he's driving on the other two wheels...
  16. There is something about purple cars... Awesome build for sure!
  17. The build is looking really awesome, that color is very similar to a Camaro '68 (the Firebird '68's sister car, badge engineering ftw) I built a few years ago, but yours is looking much better!
  18. Tack Niko, jag förstod mer än väl så det är lugnt
  19. Very nice work so far, the body looks awesome even without any paint!
  20. Love the color and the interior is a nice contrast in white! I think I need to get my hands on one of these...
  21. This is awesome, love the new front end, will be following this for sure
  22. Thanks Shane and Ron! Ain't that the truth Ron, lots of high quality work here, I'm nowhere near that level yet, but I'll get there...
  23. Thanks Dan!
  24. As people already said, keep on pushing even if it doesn't turn out the way you wanted it to, we've all started somewhere! Good luck with the kit, looking forward to see it finished
  25. This is going to be awesome
