  1. It was a least 15 years ago when I built this one, possibly more like 20. 100_0828 by Brian Smith, on Flickr 100_0829 by Brian Smith, on Flickr 100_0831 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  2. I like this project!! Looking good so far!!
  3. Looks great!! I'm taking notes!! I hope to build one myself one day.
  4. Looks Great!!! A couple of those pictures could pass for the real thing!!! Great Work!!
  5. Started on the engine (Cummins NHRS) and transmission and worked a little more on the frame. IMG_3172 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_3171 by Brian Smith, on Flickr This is the suspension that I'm going to try to replicate. IMG_3173 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_1803 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  6. That looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Looks like the real deal! With the lighting, I could see this one sitting outside shining from the lights of the truck stop. Great work!! I too like a quick build once in a while. I often lose my patience with a long build.
  8. Thanks Kerry!! I'm not sure about the reliability of this set up. Before the age of computers and instant information, my grandpa always talked about trucks running belts to drive the tandems. I never really could picture what he was talking about. I even thought that he was confused about how it worked. Years later I got the opportunity to see the real thing at a truck show. I can only assume that the ability of this set up was very limited. I've never seen it done in scale, so here goes.
  9. I have officially started this project. Finally! The AMT T600 donated some frame rails, and with a little modification to them, the frame has begun. I think that I'll start on the engine now to decide crossmember placement. IMG_3158 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_3159 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  10. Thanks!! I was inspired by a few I've seen around here myself, including a Pinto, a Camaro, and a hearse, but never a Gremlin either.
  11. I thought that I was the only one that did that type of thing. Looking great though!!!
  12. Thanks Rick!! I'm hoping to finally start on the Highbinder project now.
  13. Thanks for the kind words guys!!!!!
  14. Thanks for all of the comments guys!!! Thanks Terry!! And thanks again for help with the parts too!!
  15. With the background, this almost looks like a vintage picture of the real thing. I would really like to see more of this build!! Top notch work!!!
  16. Thanks for all the encouraging comments guys!!!
  17. Very nice build!! Excellent work!!
  18. Wow! 800 holes. By my figures that's probably a conservative estimate. A lot of work, but looking great!! Can't wait to see this one done!!
  19. Looking Good!! Jeff covered it well on the parts. Use what you can find. Aluminum drink cans are a good source for aluminum that cuts easy and is easy to work with for making parts as well. HVAC tape works for insulation too.
