  1. Very impressive work!! There's been rumors about a giant laser that shrinks things down to scale. I think that you may have found one.
  2. Very nice looking truck!! It could pass for the real thing in some of those photos. Great work!
  3. Flickr has worked great for me for about a year now. Much better than Photobucket.
  4. Nice work!! I've had mixed results trying to get my boys interested in building. Glad to see a young builder's work!
  5. Very nice work on a very cool build!!
  6. Thanks Ron! Thanks JT!! I thought that you might like the color.
  7. It doesn't happen every time but about one out of ten times I have trouble getting a thread to open or have trouble getting a post to actually post. For threads that are hard to open, I usually start over, but I learned that if I try to do anything while waiting (like start again) for a post to actually post that it sometimes will double post.
  8. Wow that looks great Jim! I've always like these helicopters. I even tried to build one years ago, but the tail was warped and I never could get it to suit me. Yours looks awesome.
  9. I'm glad that I saw this. I thought I was alone. I'm using Firefox on Windows 7 and can't back out. I also have a continuing on and off again circle in the top left of the page as if the page is continuing to try to reload. To back out I have to go back to the top of the page every time and re-click "Forum" and start again.
  10. I believe that is right on the 4070A kit , but I think that the same was said about the W900 and Round 2 pulled it off. I know that there is a great deal of expense for such an undertaking, but I know that the A model would be a hit if possible to release.
  11. I'd like to see the IH 4070A and 4070B. I had a few of the reissued 4070Bs (Transtar II) when they came out several years ago, but sold them when I quit building. Who knew that I would start again? I would also like to see both of the IH S series trucks re-released. Why not the KW mixer too?
  12. Looking great Pat!! I cut over 10 windshields for my Bighorn before I got one right.
  13. I have a few reference pictures that I have taken. Click on this photo of a 359 chassis and it will take you to my Flickr account. Go to my albums and trucks are separated into different albums. I also have collected several pictures that I haven't taken also. If you are looking for something specific that isn't shown, let me know. If I have it, I will PM it to you. IMG_2883 by Brian Smith, on Flickr Looking forward to seeing your build.
  14. I've only built the 71. The hood was very warped. The cab roof was a bird bath. I tried hot water, but couldn't get it out. In a last ditch effort, I turned a stove top burner on high and held the hood over the heat. I was able to get the warp out of the hood, and remove the dish from the top of the cab with no other damage. If you try this, be careful, the plastic will get soft quickly.
  15. The Loadstar that I put an engine in had a regular 345 v-8 in it that looked just like the scout engine to me. I haven't looked to see how accurate the old Ertl scout engine is, but that kit should be a good source for an engine.
  16. This truck has been customized and you could build a similar truck with any 73-80 truck. 81-87 used a different hood and front fenders. The recessed grill would have been earlier than 76. 79-80 had chrome benzels around the headlights and park lights. Some 78's may have, but I know that all did not. 79-80 had a ridge on the nose of the hood that the pre-79 didn't. Silverados in 80 had square headlights. You could take the current GMC snow plow kit, remove the emblems, make a tube grill, and convert it to two wheel drive and make a similar truck as pictured. It may sound like a lot of work, but it would be an inexpensive alternative.
