  1. Thanks everyone . When I took it in the said my "Putor was fine, I needed to un-load and re-load AOL. So we'll give 'er a shot. Thanks for all the input - dave
  2. Better wait awhile, you may not like it when it's done
  3. hey george Found out everything is O.K., just need to unload AOL and reload it. In the meantime, I figured out how to transfer pics a different way - Works real good until I fix it proper-like , so no jonesin George
  4. There were several way's to do these, but I decided I needed a straight line between the jams and the interior tub to make this work properly. I added flat sheets of plastic on the outside of the tub to make it flat, so it would match the jams on the body, and then built the jams on the body to fit. I made everything "Razor Edge" sharp, and a tight , sorta "Press Fit" , so that the body has to be spread open to receive the interior tub and will "Snap" back "Snugly" into place so there are no gaps. Seems to have worked . I'll do the hatch jams next, using donor body parts like I did on the doors. I had three Vette kits total, two for donor parts for this build, and for a '55 Chev with "Vette" goodies , and parts for several other builds tooGotta get my money's worth . Anyhow, here's some pic's.
  5. Well' the other day I down-loaded a program that the computor warned me against and WHAM - Guess what??Stuff doesn't work now. I got a POP-UP that say's" The main.idx file is damaged. error: 65-FONL Whatever that means . So I gotta take the ol' hard-drive in to the Geek Squad, and getter fixed, so no more pics on any of my projects, 'til I getter repaired. Guess I better listen up when the ol' "PUTOR" speaks to me - dave
  6. 'jurgen' This is lookin' great . The colors and finish are beautiful. You do very nice work. Can't wait to see more progress - dave
  7. Hey Erik What kind of glue do you like to use, and I'll make sure I have some there for you - dave
  8. Hey Dave, nice to see you here Yeah, maybe I'll do that. Far enough along now, so they don't look so ugly . See ya then - dave
  9. Just gotta be determined Jeff, and you'll make it. Not only be determined to be better, but be determined to have a whole buncha fun doin' it. Life's not much good without the fun and the friend's - dave
  10. Hey all I have lot's of different favorite's when it comes to building, and "Jammin: is one of them. It's fun figuring things out, and making them work, and have the fir real "Tight" when it needs to be. I used the jams on here to help locate and lock the interior tub in place. I fiiled in some spaces on the outside of the tub to make everything "Flush", so I could build the jam's up against them. I wanted everything "Razor Edge Sharp" , straight and flat so that all the pieces would easily fit into place. Even with a little extra time spent to fit them all, it's amazing how well they all went together. I'd include some pic's but something has gone "Haywire" with my computor, but my son will be over in a day or two, to fix it - HE'S GOOD . Everything is fixable. Have a good week-end - dave
  11. Hi Peter Yeah' I'm a watcher and follower like you. Your right too, in that Golf's been pretty boring this year without "TIGER" . If he stay's healthy, I don't think there's any stoppin him for some new records - Pretty cool. I got a set of clubs, as it allows me to go out once in a great while when my oldest son and practice on my "HOOK" and "SLICE" . I do better bowling, so does my son though. He whips me pretty bad, but we sure have fun together . Anyhow, talk at you later - dave
  12. That's funny Yeah a low buck driving range, next to a low buck trailer court . Guess I'll have to put some scratches in the paint - er, ah, primer that is.
  13. Hi Peter How cool to hear about your new project. Your stuff is always exciting and over-the-top, so can't wait to see what it's about. Yeah, we seem to be hittin' on the same wave-length here. Pretty cool. Right coast/left coast . Me, i'm hopin to have most of the "Old projects" pretty wrapped up, before I start something brand new, hopefully by mid to late summer. It all depends on the rest of my life LOL - Family, friends, and probably a contest or two and definetly some week-end trips to the beach this summer. I love the beach. And of coarse the PGA tour and Tiger Woods coming back hopefully this season . He is so amazingly good. Still got two scratch-built's to finish. One is almost done, the other is pretty major, with some things to do I've never done before on models, so I'm excited to get back on that one. It's patiently waiting for me . I gotta tell ya that this retirement thing, is way better than I expected. I loved my career, but the freedom and the energy I get from my independance, and choosing new goals and new directions for my life, is amazing. Still young and passionate for life, and I love each new day. God has really blessed me richly over the years, just like He has you and many other's here, and it's so cool to be able to thank Him, and live for Him. He's the greatest . Anyhow, I'll be watching for a new thread on this latest project of your's. All the best my friend - dave
  14. Me too 'Jurgen' This thing is over-the- top. Can't wait to see it all together. Yeah, I've run out of words too - That's somethin' for me - HAH
  15. WOW!! Your SKILLS, TALENT, and IMAGINATION are amazing. This forum is so lucky to have builder's like you and "Cranky", and Peter Lombardo, Raul Perez, and just a host of other incredily talanted and gifted "Model Artists". I love the support and encouragement here too, and the chance for all of us to share our passions - pretty cool keep up the great work. Another insanely incredible build - Love the art work too all the best - dave
  16. I love this kit Gonna be fun watchin' your progress. What you've done so far looks great . keep up the good work - dave
  17. JUST TOO COOL "Everything else has been said", so I just second it all .
  18. Thanks Your's too. I can't believe your skills and imagination Your "Kaddy" is 'Way Over The Top". Havin' fun watchin' ya - dave
  19. Hey all Took a break from the "Retro-Vette" and let the primer dry, so I got a little time to play with these two. Front fenders done and on the coupe and got a little bit of a "Rake" now, with full wheel/ tires. Goal is for it to be a "Little Classy" for goin' to the "Greens" and playin a round of "18". There'll be a warmed over "Civilized Flatty" under the "Bonnet" , and a "Real Leather" interior. The Cabriolet will have a leather interior too. Scratch-built top is nearly done. Both cars will have "Spare's", but they'll be different. Engine in this one too, but not sure what it'll be. These will both have plenty of detail, and be pretty "stock" looking, especially the coupe. Here's a coupla pic's .
  20. I been playin' with the new camera so not as much done as I coulda, but havin' fun . Here's some pic's of the progress. Got the door's and hatch cut out, and pretty well got most of the finishing done, and ready to start looking at how to blend the interior with the jam's that I'll build. 'I need to start on the hinges first, so I know how to modify the interior. Put a coupla removeable roof supports in to keep the body ridged, so when I was "Knifing" the doors out, I wouldn't SNAP something. I guess this is turning into more than I had planned, but sure is fun . Anyhow, here's the pic's.
  21. 'Jurgen' You are one amazing builder . The level of detail on the engine, and firewall, and the body work are all beautiful. I love the stance, color, the aluminum turned items, and the perfect period look. You got it all goin' on this one. Great job as usual - dave
  22. Ditto here on how clean this build is, and just like the one's I used to see on the street "Back in the Day" , and the "Racing Stripe" is great. Super job. Hope to see more of your work - dave
  23. That's funny. I'm just tryin' to get better at this and have fun, like everyone else here. It's all about the fun ya know. Just like when we were little kids playin' with our toys, here we are playin' with our "TOYZ" again
  24. The Steeler's are a pretty good team. I guess I'll root for them . Boy am I going to hear it now . Time to duck and run
