  1. The very first Under Glass post. I couldnt help to bump it after almost 9 years
  2. Looking good ! Can never go wrong with green, one of my favorite colors on cars. Im sure whatever decision you make on the interior would be the right one, but personally green/white or green/saddle brown would be my choice, with lots of chrome !!!!
  3. Stan, thats coming out really nice. Nice color choices! I would imagine thats around a 1970? And I was really hoping you would keep the redline front wheels!!! LOL But those front wheels look great also.
  4. Very nice !
  5. Very nice. And your right, that roof line helped with the overall flow of the car.
  6. Here is the pic of the valve I tried loading with the original topic.
  7. Any word on Joe's hand or the outcome of this build?
  8. Very nice build!
  9. Hmm. Apparently I can not load pics from my phone EDIT: All taken care of
  10. Are models scaled by length or by area? I know the rc drag cars I build are scaled by length, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks. I'm testing my lathe and patience here. I know I forgot to cut the keeper grooves lol I was going for a 2.300" valve with a .375 stem, which would be .031 for 1/12 scale, but I chickened out at .040 when I started getting some vibration. So the lathe needs a slight tune up.
  11. Excellent color choices !!
  12. Tim, I am very new to this, so much so I havent build a kit since I was a kid. I just joined the forum and Im still in the planning stages. I like large scale car so my first attempt at this will be a 1/12 foose camaro, set up to x275 specs. I always plan ahead and never shoot from the hip on any builds, and the research has me baffled on specs alone. I know the x275 class is fairly new class, but Im finding different rules in different parts of the country. Maryland, being the closest state to me with guidelines, will most likely be the specs I build the car to. The only direction I have at the moment is a single turbo small block with a ladder bar suspension. Im still researching component dimensions, and with alot of searching, I finally found specs for the ford 9" third member bolt pattern. So if this is a sign, this is gonna take awhile LOL.
  13. Thanks Alan and Richard. Richard, you know the daily struggle of living here, and you know how hard it is to give it up. This city is a hard habit to break. And to be honest, I'm also over the "thrill" of living here, but not enough to move just let. But when I do, I see myself either in Maryland or North Carolina, close to the drag strip.
  14. You definitely pulled it off. Nice job !!!
  15. I drag race nitro and electric remote control cars. For the past 5 years or so, all the electric guys have switched over to bruthless motors and lipo batteries. The voltage at the hit is ridicious, very common to have a 400 amp punch draw on the batteries. We cant "soft" solder the connectors anymore, they literally blow off, so we use solder with a bit of silver in it, but the heat required almost toasts the battery, so we use a heat sink just past the solder point. Usually braided line for desoldering wires. It works great and I suggest it to anyone that is solding brass components together. It will definately help from having other connection points from coming loose.
  16. Thank you. And what is "warning points"?
  17. Also, its been awhile since Ive researched class specs, and any links would be appreciated. I imagine nothing has changed with cage 1:1 specs being 1-5/8" on main hoop? And if there is anyway of pushing a company into making a 1/12 09 Vette, just let me know the direction to go in and Ill push lol
