Way back before the 71 kit was even released there were some teaser test shot sprue pics of a 73 grill, front bumper and flat hood from Revell. Word was that they were planning the 73 "Elanor" from the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" movie. Nothing has been mentioned of it since. Does anyone know anything about it? My first car was a 73 Mach 1 and I've always wanted a decent kit of it. The Round2 kit is total garbage in my opinion.

It's a Ram Air air cleaner, unfortunately. It looks like we'll have to wait until the 1973 version (Eleanor) comes out to get a correct non-Ram Air air cleaner. Hopefully the aftermarket can step up.

The decals in the European issue are not just more extensive. They're printed in Italy (by cartograf?) and appear to be higher quality than the ones in the US release. I don't know why they just don't use the same ones?

The decals in the 007 kit are basically just for that version which is a Mach I without the stripes. That version had a chrome strip separating the body color from the black panted lower portion. Revell cheated and made this part of the decal. The builder would have to add this using strip plastic to be totally accurate. You could add the stripes and spoilers from the Boss 351 and make the more common version. Of course, this would only work for black stripes since Revell doesn't include silver (argent) "Mach I" logos in the kit. My hope would be that Revell will include these in the US version, or maybe even do it as a 2 in 1 that would build both versions.

The Future of Revell...for 2024 at least.

I have the European issue of the 007 Mach I and it's definitely a 429. Really nice kit! -
Love how they tried to capture the "Bent out" effect on the single headlight grille. When Dodge removed the inboard headlights, they replaced that area with a section cut from further in on the grille which had to be pinched slightly to match the way the grille tapered. causing the middle to stick out a little further. It's little touches like this that make for a good model! It's also great that they included a 4 headlight grille which some guys also ran.

I hate to be a "Debbie Downer" but Indy Car kits have ended up being a poor seller for companies that have tried them in the past. I'm sure they'll be well done and I wish them a lot of luck though.

At NNL East, Ed Sexton said it should be out in July. I hope so!

Hi Rex! I wonder if that's the US release date? Most Revell kits are released in Europe well ahead of their release here. The Olds 442 was out in Germany at least 2 months before the US boxed version.

Revell to Repop the Will do wrecker !
Dave Toups replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I saw it too, and yeah, I don't want one THAT bad. I have a feeling that Revell Germany will reissue it someday. The Kenworth Dump is coming back this year and I didn't think that would ever happen, so you never know. If the wrecker does come back out it'll probably be close to $150 retail, but that's still better than $300 - $500 -
The Powell pickup is going to be a 3d printed kit. Okey had a prototype on display at the show in Atlanta. It looks really good and he seems serious about getting it out.

Chuck Boerner (CHUCK'S 60's- 80's DRAG RACING MODEL CAR DECALS on Facebook) makes a nice set of replacement Jungle Jim decals for this kit as well as a lot of other 1/16 Vega decals. His stuff is really high quality -
I always took off the cowl braces when I changed plugs on my 73.

Revell in Omaha (2022 IPMS Nats)

The headlights look fine to me. Especially when you consider the area around them will be painted black. The AMT and MPC headlights were always too small anyway
