  1. The forum was down ? I mowed the lawn, both front and back. Sized up a Monogram '53 Chevy for a gasser build. Looked through the stash for an old Revell Model A sedan for a nostalgia (my high school ride) build. Keep it model related Johnathan or you know where your post will end up
  2. So why did you buy all of those Tom Daniel kits ?
  3. So who decides which vintage kits have "had their time and place" ? I think one would be hard pressed to say any of these kits are current other than their reissue status. "Their time being passed" certainly seems to be what does indeed make them relevant. As for "Tom Danials kits VS Steve Scott's one kit, there are many other one off kits on the market and many wish lists. No offense, but just from the interest here and several articles in the automotive press I'd say no one can be certain about the future of the Uncertain T.
  4. Tom I think you're right on the Revell thing, same thing I was thinking. The stuck in the past thing brings to mind all the reissues we all calmer for though.
  5. Two links, one current http://www.stevescottsuncertaint.com/main.html (from the creator of the subject) and one from more than four years ago (2009) http://coffincorner.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=print&thread=10786 ( not unlike many post here, full of second, third hand information), interesting. 10,000 kits? This seems like a small number when compared to so many kit releases. A " '60's oddball custom with a crooked roof " ? How is this any different from any other '60's era custom? Say a '32' Ford two door sedan with a cantilevered roof? and look, you can get the Monogram whitewall piecrust slicks and Torq Thrust wheels right here.
  6. This was referenced in the latest Rodders Journal http://www.stevescottsuncertaint.com/
  7. and there's your answer. Experts weigh in.
  8. All that talkin' an' lookin' I didn't realize that was yours Johnathan. Great build, clean. Nice to see it isn't accessory laden like so many. Six years growing up in Europe, I don't recall ever seeing VW's with a car top carrier.
  9. No, no, no, Dan, this is the Blue Beetle
  10. Man Casey, great review, thanks, nothing left uncovered.
  11. So what body do you think they ment it to be ? A twodoor sedan? or a five window coupe ?
  12. Thank you all for the great suggestions. I'm going with Danial's clear packing tape.
  13. Found this on the web, thought I'd pass it on, enjoy http://www.fieros.de/en/articles/fierokits.html
  14. Good luck on the rear fender / body fit. I've built two and could never get it right.
  15. My son sent me this, thought you'd all enjoy it. http://indymotorspeedway.com/v1/500pace.htm A bunch of nice looking Vettes.
  16. I've noticed many of my older Revell kits that came in those awful ( I always wondered why everyone was so upset) " Donut" type boxes are popping open and spilling their contents all over. Now I'm wondering what the cure is. Yea, I know, pick up all the parts and put them back in the box. But what about the crumby falling apart donut boxes? I've tried 'contact cement' but I'm not sure how long that will last. What else is there, short of finding new (different) boxes? (Danno should love all these little faces )
  17. First I'm thinking, " Man you're just showin' off" but no this is worthy. Great stuff, never had any idea how many different reissues of some of these kits. Thanks Stef.
  18. That and their removal from other big box stores. The casual chance discovery of a young builder or the Mom, Grandparent (or other relative) or someone else buying for a birthday party etc.
  19. I have seen this in the Stamp collecting hobby. It is a real consideration.
