Can anyone get me pictures of what they look like,I have only built 70s and newer versions and would like to see what the originals look like. I am wanting to build a early 50s hotrod out of the 60s 34 kit using all vintage or vintage based Monogram parts, thinking about using 41 lincoln rims since they will be easier to find but would like to see what the original 40 kit had.

What is this?

The Lincolns also had a bigger Flathead V8 that was also used in the larger trucks. -
I just want to say thanks to all I have dealt with on parts and trades,if not for you I would still be looking and I hope I can be of help too.

Since the Monogram 41 Lincoln I grabbed from the attic is missing a hub cap so I am thinking about lowering it so it tje rear caps will not be seen, and while I am at it could hop up the V12 so did anyone ever cast any speed equipment for that engine or will I have to make them my self. I could see if I can get some 1/25 50s engines to swap in.

I originally built it around this time of the year in 1974,built it in the molded black and a few years later repainted it in silver and shortly later went back to black. It got put in the attic at some time and then the hood warped and that is where it stayed for over 30 years. Went to a model show today and found a hood so out of the attic it came and the noticed it was missing the spare tire and one hub cap,its been moved from box to box over the years so I hope I still have the parts. Hood will be painted to match and reglued along with some detailing and that is it.

The bed has it too so I am now thinking of painting so its not going to be a minimal paint build now,it now looks like when I build the 1963 34 Ford kit that will be the one that will be minimum paint. -

Do not know if it can be seen in the picture but something happened to the color when it went through the mold and its all over the cab but the rest looks good. -

The color on this body is just not consistent and just looks cheap,I have a few 60s and early 70s kits that were not painted and they look great. I was hoping to do a lazy build but might not happen,I will post pictures of the body tomorrow of where I have concerns. -

This time of the year I have issues painting in the basement so this is will be a build while paint and glue are drying on the other two but after looking over the body I might have to paint, the color is not that great like on 60s and 70s kits. -
I got the Monogram 90s F 250.and since its molded in color I am seriously thinking about building it that way like I did when I was a kid and did not have any money for paint, engine and chassis will be painted along with some detailing under the hood and interior but that is it. Anybody ever done that lately.
