  1. Thanks Jay, I do watch Graveyard Cars since I am a Mopar guy at heart but found Mustangs are way cheaper to build.
  2. Looks awesome. I've wondered what you need to chop a top on a plastic model.
  3. Thanks Dogfish the problem isn't the red bleeding through, it's more of inconsistent coverage. I've messaged a few people about it and seems as if I wasn't mixing the paint enough is the general consensus, along with not spraying a wet coat just spray light coats to get the coverage I'm looking for.1 Spent the afternoon cleaning out the trim lines of all the built up paint in them.
  4. Your welcome James.
  5. Thank you Dan.
  6. Thank you Dan, lets see how well I can blend the paint on the side that the tape lifted the paint now.
  7. Thank you, I love the body style but wanted to do something different with it.
  8. Decided the paint should have had enough time to dry and went to tape off the trim lines to paint them black, I guess I should have cleared it first. Not sure since I'm still new to spraying craft paints on models.
  9. Nice cannot wait to see it progress.
  10. It looks great.
  11. Back to square one on the roof. I hope I have enough primer left.
  12. Aggghhhhh I cannot get this roof painted for BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, looked like it was covering well then I figured I could spray a wet coat and it just goes to BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. Do pearls need to be sprayed thin until you get to the desired coverage?
  13. Awesome I wish I had at least one photo of my RC McLaren before it got wrecked during a Tamiya TCS race years ago. But it won best of show at 3 other TCS events. Looking forward to seeing this one done.
  14. Off to dinner so to minimize dust and finger oils time to wrap it up.
  15. I spent this afternoon sanding the body down to the white base coat. I picked up some Testors white and pearl so I'm thinking of respraying it white then masking off the body and try an shoot the roof again with the restore pearl. The base was Testors rattle can white as was the primer. My problem wasn't the paint sticking but more like not coating evenly. Not sure it I over thinned it or if it was still to thick to spray. Yes it is not a traditional Christine but I didn't lower it leaving it stock height I did have to shave the rear Quarters to clear the tires but i'm loving how it is looking with the wheels.
  16. I'm about to give up on using this paint and go back to a regular enamel or lacquer based paint for the pearl white roof. About to strip it down to primer again.
  17. Was wwaiting for my wife to get home decided to tape the bumper in place and pop the hood one, noticed the top of the fenders need another coat or 2 of paint.
  18. Thanks guys i appreciate the positive comments. Dark sage was a single year color option 85 only. Its funny the kit uses the 84/85 exhaust with single tailpipes yet the 85.5/86 aero nose
  19. Thanks Stephen, I'll check it out for sure. I really do miss my 86 SVO a lot. Especially after smoking a GT or a IROC back in the day with a 4 cylinder. Sprayed the body today, not to let the paint cure then paint the lower sectionsection of the rocker panels and lower air deflectors flat black. Bottom pic is my real 93 after it came home from the body shop.
  20. That is one sick build up.
  21. The Keystones look great on it, but I've always liked the Keystones on a E body.
  22. Thanks Mark. I really miss my 86 SVO mine was silver with grey leather interior.
  23. Awesome looking build
