I just finished the 1936 Toyoda AA from Tamiya. First of all, no error in the name : "Toyoda" became "Toyota" only in 1937 (only to have a beter sound in japaneese language). For this realization, I have chosen the authentic color named "Haizakura" amongst the 3 colors which were available in 1936 for this car. I'm very satisfied with the paint which is not too shiny for those days. The building process is in the section " On the workbench ".

The paint is far too thick. The one shot paint is not a good idea. So, I unpaint the model (a bath in Glanzer) The result :

OK. I thought it was the same kit in different boxes, and that some boxes were wrong in scale.

Wonderfull classic car and super built. I Wonder if the scale is 1/25 or 1/24 ? On some boxes it's written 1/25 and on others 1/24. I search only 1/24 cars to have an homogeneous collection. Please, would you tell me if the total length is 7.8 inches (1/25) or 8.15 inches (1/24) ? Thank you very much.

Now the paint job. 3 colors were available in 1936 for this car : Haizakura (pink beige), Nazukon (dark blue) and Kuro (black). I choose Haizakura color because of its exotic touch. Mixed 3 Humbrol colors and obtained this : I tried the one shot paint but I think it was an error, as the paint is far too thick ... Perhaps I will remove the paint an do it again ?

Here is my built of Tamiya 1/24 1936 Toyoda AA. First of all, no error in the name : Toyoda became Toyota only in 1937. The frame : I add some Evergreen behind the radiator to clip the frame to the body : The front frame Under the Evergreen : Click : Good. Perfectly clipsed. No glue. Can be separate to modify or repair the interior.

Whaooo ... Very imaginative and creative job. I love it very much. But I can certify to you that Northern Italy is a very civilized country. Hope our italian friends will understand humour ...

Thank you all for comments Dave thank you for answer. Your paint work is absolutely perfect. For mine, perhaps I will remain more classic as I wonder if those pearly paints exist in 1933 Bruce, I saw your 1931 452A. The panel lines are perfect and you found an elegant solution to thin the wheels spokes with 2 tones of blue (the only solution as the wheel covers were introduced only in 1932 ) Now, the black wash on panel lines, radiator grille and wheels ? Perhaps you could add the missing wood grain on the stanchions of the top I was asked the same question on the french Forum and my answer was as follows : Don't forget, I built this model 30 years ago when I was young and whitout any web information. I painted the body whith a brush and now the panel lines are not perfect enough to be filled with a wash. Now, consider that when I undertake the renovation of the model (6 month ago), the entire model was glued and the wheels were clipped and could not be removed whithout damage. So on a new kit, before gluing, you have separate parts in your hand and you can try anything you want on them. If wrong, you can delete and restart. On an already built kit, if you reach a wrong result, there is no possible return So it is a relic of my past and I like to keep it as it is now. But of course I built my new models in the today maner

Thank you all for comments Dave, I love very much your 1933 Cadillac 452C. I have it to built (and also the same with the All Weather Phaeton body). Just a question about the semi-gloss body : which paint have you used ?

Thank you very much First of all, the roof is only the monogram plastic roof with Humbrol paint (sorry for the disappointment ) To understand the access to the rear seat, I would like to post a video, but don't know how to do <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dQnn6tLE4dg?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
