  1. Thank you so much for that info. It's a tremendous help.
  2. I'll have to pay closer attention to 1:1 pics. I got to looking at the detail and didn't realize the paint scheme went that way. Thanks for the info.
  3. I had to do homework last night (should have my degree in January, never should have started college past 35). Hopefully tonight I'll get to mess around with the hinges and see if I can flatten some rod to get the boxy look from the kit ones. My wife actually volunteered today to see if she could hammer out some hanger to be flat.
  4. I do agree with the wire hinges look to some extent. On this one though with the door open it leaned down at the outer edge. So I was going to use a flat wire so it wasn't just a "bent piece of wire " look. And for the trunk, I plan on affixing the hinges between where the bottom side of the trunk and the "bracing" that covers the bottom side of the trunk meet. I'd like to not have tubing showing from the underside. I'm not sure if that makes sense reading it but it makes sense in my mind. Hopefully I'll be successful and you guys will actually get to see what I'm thinking. I am personally not a fan of the glass roof unless it's a black/red color combo. I'm thinking of going with a coral bottom and white top or the "old" green color and white. Thanks for all the looks and comments.
  5. Thanks everyone. It's moving slower than I thought. I always had a great deal of respect for the people that did all the modifications. Now doing it myself i have even more. I do have to give credit where credit is due though. I'd like to give a shout out to MrObsessive. I've been using his 56 to 55 conversion pics from his fotki a lot and to Ace for his tips on the trunk interior which should be started soon.
  6. I'm thinking since this my first time cutting and stuff, gonna go straight hardtop.
  7. Got one of the doors really started then gouged the panel so had to stop for putty. Started the drip railing for the trunk started as well. There don't seem to be any super unrealistic gaps in doors or trunk (yet). Thanks for checking it out.
  8. I started this over the weekend. Its my first attempt at any modifications. We will see how it goes.
  9. Hey everyone. I've started a 56 Ford Victoria for contest coming up here in Oklahoma in a few months. I have found some really great stuff on the forums as always. For the first time I have cut a trunk open. What is the best way to do the interior of the trunk (i.e. the bottom and sides)? I already saw a few tips/ideas for the lip on the inside, and saw plenty of pics of the trunk interior already completed. Just need some help with the process for the inside. I'll start a wip thread for it tomorrow. Thanks in advance for the help guys.
  10. Hastings here in Muskogee is going out of business and had this pretty cheap. Got it out of the box and washed. Next comes the Comet scrub down.
  11. Hey everyone. It feels like I've been gone forever. I finally signed out on retirement leave from the Army and moved to Muskogee, OK. Getting settled in now. Found the Hastings here today and they are having a huge going out of business sale. All models are 20% off right now. So I picked up the '65 Chevy Impala Foose edition. Anyone in the Muskogee area or know of any clubs close by? It's great to be back.
  12. Also Ace, oddly enough, I can't find the thread where you said how to search for things in the site.
  13. What size beads work for hose fittings? I have found some 11/0 before but they seem kind of large. Is that the correct size?
  14. I found it at a thrift store for 20 bucks. Got to looking at the instructions, the model, and some 1:1 reference stuff and figured out the engine could be almost non existent. The hood doesn't open and seems like there's a plate that goes along the bottom for the interior to sit on.
  15. I'm not an engine guru by any means. Does anyone know if this is just a 350 in this van or not.? I'm having trouble finding a concrete answer.
  16. At a thrift store. Side project while I work on the B.R.B.O.
