  1. If you don't mind me asking, where did she find it?
  2. Welcome back to the hobby John. You should stop by the Plastruct and Evergreen plastic websites and download their catalogs. i find them handy for planning scratch projects. Also find a good scale converter program/site. Grab some Proweld type liquid adhesive, regular model kinda sucks for because of the drying time. crank up some tunes and dig in.
  3. I'll just send ya my slicks and a 12 pack, send'em back when they're ready LOL Beautiful build
  4. heres another..
  5. Looks refridgerator white LOL
  6. They were common here in Michigan in the '70's. Whether they actualy help in the fog, beats me? I'll have to ask my older brother
  7. It's a very good career choice. I'm not a firefighter or EMT, but I wish I would have got in when I was younger. Your job can't be outsourced, BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH will always be on fire somewhere, and all these baby boomers will need a lift to the hospital at some point. and you'll have a ton of funny stories for your drinkin' buddies LOL Study hard and god speed to ya
  8. beauty....
  9. Thanks for the kind words guys. Yes, it is the AMT kit. Goes together without much fuss, I'd do another in drag version it I run across one. Anyone know what kit they borrowed the steering wheel from? It's not Oldsmobile..
  10. Mine has the big flake too. It just doesn't show up in the pictures. By scale, it would like like a 70's Ranger bass boat or a drum set LOL
  11. This was shot in Testors one coat "Icy Blue".
  12. Just missed out on one of these Sting-Rays at a estate sale. Guy said it went for $45.
  13. Christmas morning 1978! By then, they moved the shifter up to the handle bars, I guess the frame shifter claimed too many crotches.. Went everywhere on the thing.
  14. I love it when a plan comes together. LOL So are the 1:1 taillights that similar?
  15. Thanks for the kind words guys!! I'm a born and raised Detroiter, so these factory backed race cars hold a special place in my heart.
  16. Using Model King's Challenger funny car kit and eBay decals. This kit wasn't even close to the 1:1, so rivet counter turn back now LOL But it looks good sitting on the shelf and that all I shoot for.
  17. I have the AMT 1/16th 25th anniv. Corvette at home. I would imagine it is the same tooling. Yes it has a Carb'ed engine.
  18. Hey All, There used to be a tutorial somewhere that showed how to lower the rearend on the old Revell funny cars. Does anyone remember or have a copy of it? Thanks, Chris
  19. I built Momma B a while ago. I'm working on Daddy O right now.
  20. Modeling.... years on the runway = 0 years building cars = 36 LOL I'm 42 now. My older brother and his buddies built at our house. So I would get their cast-off and mistakes and make all kinds of messes of them. It hooked me for life, thanks bro..
  21. Here's the same kit, mine was molded in blue
  22. Hey Guys! I've been pushing this opened parachute around the parts box for almost 15 years, thinking I'll do something with it someday... Finialy did something with it! Using floral wire and a suction cup, I soldered the wires to the suction cup hook and bent the wire so it was hanging a few scale feet off the ground. I need to fine tune the wires as you can see a few loose ones. Now I can "Hang the laundry out" for pictures, etc...
  23. Here's what I have so far...... I'm going to use a 2" piece of copper pipe as a buck for the arc of the plow, I thinking if I lay a piece of sheet styrene on the pipe and wave the heat gun over it until it relaxes to the shape then cool it, it should hold that shape. The quadrant is going to be a piece of sprue (a corner heated to relax the 90 degree open to about 130 degrees...
  24. I would suggest a bandana between the iron and the wax paper. To keep the wax off the iron, so it doesn't get transfer to the first piece of clothing ironed... ask me how i know
