  1. I use panty hose. Cut into 2" x 2" squares. Get the plus size and it will last you a while. no cleaning it either, strain and throw in the garbage.
  2. I still use the good 'ole X-Acto. I have different color masking tape around the bottom of the handle to identify which is which. and to stop them from rolling, I leveled my hobby table...
  3. I didn't even know John Candy was a modeler? I was at the '74 Detroit Autorama, good times....
  4. Another vote for the H, I've used the single action H so long, I cant get used to the VL double action. I have both and reach for the H every time.
  5. first time posting a picture using imgur. This is a tribute build of my brothers '76 Chevy.
  6. Thanks guys! I can see why they called it the "widow maker' those are some wide handlebars! I couldn't imagine rippin' it down a trail in northern Michigan and not hitting my bars on every tree. The decals are glued down with Future, They laid down nice, but as soon as they dried, they curled right up. Fun build, Copyright says 1976, that would have put me at 8 years old when it was released.
  7. Revell Suzuki TM-400 Cyclone dirt racer
  8. I just finished the polar Lights version. very simplified snap kit.
  9. I got mine here https://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-drill-bits/=1bikz6j click on wire gauge size drill bits for down to #80
  10. This one is free hand. Lay down your green/olive drab, then tan patches, follow up with some black and your done. Here is a .PDF of the military spec on camo. camo.pdf
  11. It's the full kit, there's a 4 cylinder under the hood, I should snap some underside and under hood pics . Shot in Testors tangerine through a Paasche H airbrush. Thanks for the kind words.
  12. Hi Guys, Finished up my Jeep CJ-5 resto-mod. Bought a bag of jeep parts at one of the Detroit NNL's for a couple bucks. Almost enough pieces to put one Jeep together, the missing pieces came from the parts box. I put the axles under the springs and added dual shocks up front to get a little lift, tire/rims from the parts box (I think they are from the 1/24 Dodge Ramcharger?). This is Jeep 3 of 6 for a future diorama (I'll start a thread for the dio as I get Jeeps 4 through 6 closer to completion).
  13. George or the parts? LOL
  14. Fun kit, I have the Hurst version to build now too..
  15. This was my white elephant kit from my model club Christmas party last year. First 1/8 scale bike for me.
  16. I just finished the Thunder Chopper tonight. It was my white elephant Christmas present last year. First bike build, will try more bikes, it was fun
  17. I forgot all about the figures that came with the kit. I darkened Pams hair and gave her glasses.
  18. Box Stock, minus the hood decal that I killed putting on.
  19. Welcome Chris, from Garden City. Hope ya can make it to one of the club meets, Kris isn't kidding about them being mini-swap meets.
  20. I just got one of the ground floor bedrooms to model in. Been a "Basement Dweller" since my youngest daughter was born in '02. Nice piggies. Dieseldawg! I get to share my room with "Shy & Hog" Oh Yeah, and the room....
  21. It builds up to a nice kit. I liked it.
  22. I found the forklift at a yard sale for $1.00 in it '70's looking package. it's a metal diecast. on the bottom it say: No, 215 Miniaturas JOAL made in spain (and the JOAL is in a crown kinda looking logo)
  23. Found an "in progress" picture of the chassis and motor.
  24. Here are some more pictures of the stake truck. No pics of the cab tilted. When I put the grill in, the cab won't tilt more than 10-15 degrees after.
