  1. Hi Gang! I picked up some Chimneyville 1/24 people at the swap meet this past weekend. Couldn’t beat the price at $2 each. I can identify Andy and Goober from the Andy Griffith Show, But cant figure out who the third guy is? The p/ns on them are CH-44, CH-49, and CH-50. I’m having zero luck looking up Chimneyville figures, it appears that Chimneyville does not have their own site? Also picked up a Chimneyville LE-5 (looks to be a guy driving), is he supposed to be someone or just a generic guy driving? Thanks for any insight into these figures
  2. I'd like to hear more about that 4-wheeler (quad)!! Who cast it? scale? I'm very interested in getting a couple...
  3. Hi gang, This is something I started over Christmas vacation and Just now got it finished. The design is the newsstand from the SA 20th anniv issue. I've been looking at that stand since the issue came out and said I'm going to do it one day, well this vacation was time to do it I lengthened it a bit and added scale model kits and a paint rack on the door. Wood was from yard sale dollhouses.
  4. This doesn't fall under tool, but it has made life easier. Instead of picking through a drawer, looking at only the tops of the jars, never grabbing the right one the first time. I cut apart an old bed frame, fired up the MIG welder and now have a nice paint rack at $0 cost. I've since made 2 more for holding brushes, files, glues, solvents, etc....
  5. My first car was a 1977 AMC Gremlin, Powder Blue, Black interior, 232ci I-6 3speed auto. handed down by mom on my 16th birthday. There is no '77 kitted as far as I know, so the next best thing is a '76. This is a box stock AMT re-issue.. and a shot of my dirt track car I did a couple years ago.
  6. I agree with you, Marty. But, you'll have to speak up, we can barely hear you......
  7. I've had all three of the releases too. I loved the "High-Roller" series. Here's what survived; The High Roller is now camo/black-out and the top removed. The original issue was built box stock and is on the rebuild list. The Bass Buster version got crazed plastic from too hot a primer and is now junk.
  8. Hey All, Anyone interested in a license plate swap? I have around 30 of the 50 states hanging in the garage already. I'm in Michigan, and can swap Michigan plates for your state plate.
  9. I got a Ronco dehydrater at a yard sale for $1.50. I've got the centers on 6 of the 7 trays cut out and now I'm dialing in the new dimmer box for 105F. Can't wait to put the first body of the season in it.
  10. Okay, which one of you knuckleheads keeps beating me to the kits at garage sales in the Detroit area? LOL I always ask when I'm at a garage sale, "you wouldn't have any model car kits, would you?" I'd say 6 out of 10 times this summer, the answer I get is "we had a bunch of them that sold this morning". I have only found one this summer, a AMT '66 Fairlane that I got for $10. Fess up you guys..... And anyone else score anything good so far this summer?
  11. Thanks guys. I had to tell my kid it was a vase while I was making it, Just like we told gramma when she found our 1:1 back in the 70's LOL
  12. I bought a over sized red dice from a hobby shop dealing in Dungon & Dragon play. Drilled the center enough to chuck it up in the moto tool and turned it to the proper size.
  13. I've used sewing thread, dipped in white glue. You only have a few minutes to get it where you want it before the glue starts to set up. Bonus: If you dont get it where you want it the first time, a wet Q-Tip softens thing up enough to adjust the thread some. I'd post a pic, but my work locks out Flicker photo site (any and all social media).
  14. Lol great timing. I'm working on a AMT Ford van. I made horseshoe bench and table for the back. I'll post up some pics as I get closer to finishing it. Word of warning... this kit was very warped out of the box. Nothing is lining up, and the way things are going so far, it looks like I'm going to have to glue the hood down to get it to look right. Edit.... the revell chevy van went together much easier, less warp.
  15. Welcome from Garden City, Mi. I've been to the DISC for a meeting, well worth the trip. Great group of ppl. I just wish my schedule was'nt so screwy, i'd join in a heartbeat.
  16. Thanks Guys I just started a thread with the Nugent Bronco pics. I really gotta start paying attention to those treads! There's 3 or 4 more monster trucks on the shelves to go...
  17. Nugent Bronco (with 2 backwards tires! LOL) MPC kit box stock. The bow, quiver, and arrows are scratch built. Guitar was a old lapel pin painted up. Being from Michigan and a bowhunter, this seemed like a no brainer/gotta have build for me.
  18. Ramchargers and Garlits
  19. All fixed up.. I stared at this thing for days and never noticed the treads.. Went and look at my Nugent Bronco and they're backwards too (and those babies ain't comin' off)
  20. I didn't even notice the treads! Thanks guys. I haven't glued the wheels, so this should be a easy fix
  21. Just got this one off the bench today, It's the AMT USA-1. (I still might add decals, it'll be a city DPW truck)
  22. I went to Detroit NNL9 today and scored enough to keep me busy all winter, I got: AMT ’65 Buick Riv, Revell ’90 mustang LX, AMT Phantom Ford van, Revell ‘77 Chevy Van, Revell Hemi-Hydro, Mono S’cool Bus, AMT Dodge ‘Lil Red Express, Revell Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Revell ’99 Chevy Silverado C/K (no box $5!), Revell ’64 Chevy Fleetside Pick up (no box $5!), AMT ’69 Ford Galaxie (no box $5!), Some black & dark grey flocking, Decals for a ’69 Hurst Olds (my kits missing them), A set of TRX rims for a ’83 Mustang project, The tow truck part from Midnight Cowboy, and 3 misc parts boxes for a buck a piece
