  1. Thanks for all the kind comments guys much appreciated .
  2. Ive never been a "fast" builder but in between working and meeting my fantastic girlfriend last year, I ended up with these few....... AMT 65 Pontiac GTO convertible Revell 65 Chevy Chevelle Z16 AMT 53 Ford Pickup ..showrod AMT 65 Ford Galaxie 500XL Tamiya 1964 Morris Mini Cooper 1275s AMT 50 Chevy Pickup "ol Smokey" first proper weathered build
  3. Nothing of interest to me from this lot, shame I thought they would do another classic 60s/70s car new tool.
  4. I bought the GTi sedan kit on release, and I have the convertible on the way along with another standard GTi, they are great looking kits the decal sheet is very comprehensive all body stripes, guages and numberplates for numourous different countries, even comes with seat pattern decals
  5. Thankyou Boban very kind words, it was photographed in the back garden on a small section of concrete, Im very happy with the way it has turned out and I couldn't have wished for a better compliment than yours .
  6. Bought these couple of oldies recently both are unstarted and will get built ...eventually !
  7. Thankyou for all the very kind comments guys much appreciated.
  8. I have to say this has to be one (there are several!) of my all time favourite kits Just finished this one
  9. Thanks for the kind comments guys, love the red truck Ron, it is a superb kit and Ill be buying another for the stash very soon.
  10. Thanks Glenn, I sort of had a head start on the chrome as the kits chrome tree was almost a satin finish, but to help it along I painted on Vallejo Satin clear and then used a mixture of MIG rust stain fluid and Citadel "Nuln Oil" wash.
  11. Bit of a different venture for me as I'm normally a strictly shiny factory stock builder, this is the great AMT Chevy 3100 kit, I can echo everyones comments in that this kit was a joy to build. I wanted to get the look of a weather worn beaten up old truck that's still in daily use. I used a Red oxide primer base and used MIG products heavy chipping fluid then a topcoat of Vallejo acrylic, the rest of the effects are a mixture of pastels and Tamiya weathering powders. I made various dents in the body using heat and the tip of an eraser from a pencil. Very happy with how it turned out.
  12. It is a great kit Michael you have done a superb job
  13. Al that is superb , I have this kit and its good to see it built up and pics of the engine at all please ?. Love the color and the black two tone great idea.
  14. Love that colour, unfortunately I cant get any paint to match that over here in the UK, otherwise i would definitely have a couple in that colour.
  15. I'm currently working on an AMT 50 Chevy pickup, Im going for a weather worn finish on this one which is a first for me, I also have a Revell 57 Chevy Bel Air that has been foiled now (Took an age!), that needs to have the interior sorted and completed, also an AMT Peterbilt wrecker which Ive only built the motor and chassis at the moment that's a very slow ongoing project....but I should get it finished really......if there were more hours in the day !
  16. Fresh out of the mold ..... Been waiting for this kit for months and it doesn't disappoint..superb
  17. I quite fancy one of these Geoff..........
  18. I have built a couple over the years the ford Escort Mk2 rally which has been re-boxed by Revell recently, the Ford transit Van and i think an early issue Range Rover, they are so so kits, the accuracy is fairly good, normally a low parts count, pretty flash /warp free, but they build and display easy, certainly nothing to get to excited about.
  19. Juergen that is just beautiful, great job
  20. Ray that is a great build mate, I have a couple of those 70 Impalas in the pile both are the Fire Chief versions, they already come with steels and dog dish caps, you have certainly inspired me to build one soon !
  21. Chuck believe me this kit is definitely begging for added detail, I was tied with the rules of the community build, but if I did another I would probably go all out, it was a great kit.
  22. Beautiful, I love everything about it, what a fantastic job
  23. Love the paint Tim, and as for the BMF its a long learning process I still cant get it spot on, love this one though the 68-72 Chevelle's are one of my favourite cars
  24. Thanks Snake, the only part that gave me grief on this kit was the final assembly, the chassis does not want to sit where its supposed to, there are two tabs on the front bumper which I cut off and I was then able to move the chassis forward enough to look "correct" . Apart from that it was a nice kit, I think its very similar to the Fairlane kits that AMT produced in the same era.
  25. Thanks for all the kind comments guys
