  1. Thanks for all the very kind comments guys much appreciated.
  2. Ive had 4 over the years and believe me as standard they really are a very peculiar angle very much like a bus !, a lot of the FWD Austin/Morris cars suffered with this the 1100/1300 range and the bigger 1800's I did actually lower the column angle on this model....although looking at it now maybe not quite enough! Lol
  3. Very true Chris .... the unfortunate case of poseable wheels but not a poseable steering wheel !
  4. Superb work Michel, another kit for my wishlist.....
  5. Just finished this one, a bit of an anniversary for me as this was the very first kit I attempted to build 25 years ago...needless to say back then I did a terrible job. So it was nice to revisit the kit and try again. The Tamiya kit's origins date from over 30 years ago now but I think this still builds into a very nice model, this one is painted to represent Old English White with a black roof, I changed the wheels from the standard "dunlop" alloy wheels to a set of Minilites, added period number plates, a 1966 tax disc and a scanned copy of Practical mechanics magazine also from 1966 sits on the passenger seat. There are a couple of flaws which I always seem to get but overall I'm very happy with how its turned out.
  6. Very nice,. Ive been wanting to get one of these Revell/Promodeler 48 Ford's for years but I just cant find one over here, I do have the 40 Ford convertible though.
  7. Welcome to the forum Dave, Im from the UK (cornwall)
  8. Although I prefer reading a physical magazine, I do wish Modelcars mag was offered in digital as I'm over in the UK and its impossible to get the magazine over here, it can be imported but its a silly price. I
  9. I can join in with this one, about 6 months ago i managed to pick up a built up Johan 68 or 69 AMX (cant remember what year), it was missing the wheels but everything else was there, now these are very hard to come by so I decided to break it down and strip the paint, ready for a restore/rebuild. Now over here in the UK ,we have a lot less options than you guys for stripping paint, I used the oven cleaner method...wouldn't touch the thick orange paint on the shell, I the had a brain wave ...caustic soda! yes that will work, well yes it probably would have worked if I used cold water........but what did I do......I used hot water from the kettle ( I have no idea what I was thinking) let me tell you after plunging that shell into that caustic hot solution that 1/25 body shrunk to the size of a deformed Johnny Lightning in seconds !! Never again !! Lol
  10. Welcome Steven, Im in Cornwall mate, there are a few of us one here.
  11. Steve thats quite a project list, but a very cool project list !!
  12. Thanks for all the kind comments.
  13. Gorgeous paint, black is a very unforgiving color, this looks very nice.
  14. Love these 67 Impalas, maybe a black wash to the hubcaps to bring the detail up sharp, but its looking real good.
  15. Here you go Bill , Im not sure how accurate a color it is but I wanted it to contrast with the exterior paint.
  16. Tulio that is a beautiful Galaxie I wish I could get my paint that shiny, but yes the color was a lucky choice its actually a Vauxhall UK color, actually looking at your photos I can see a couple of things I didn't do quite right, like the chrome trim around the base of the roof at the rear and the black highlight in the tail lights. I will correct those.
  17. Thanks for all the great comments guy's, I do like to have a break from the norm every now and again color wise, and ill research the color chips for that year and pick one that you don't see often. Just like in my Avatar the 68 Corvette in Bronze rater than red/yellow/blue. But I still like those common colors too, I just paint whatever color takes my fancy at the time. Ive never seen one of these Galaxies in the flesh, there are a few over here in the UK but its still a very rare sight. Already looking forward to building the Fred Lorenzen version ...but that's way down the "to do list".
  18. Thanks James, its one of AMT's best and they are re-releasing it soon ! will have to get another to add to the 2 that I already have in the stash.
  19. Tommy I'm subbed to that American muscle car channel its great just wish the videos were in HD. Steven thanks for the compliment, I do like the 64s myself, you should dig this kit out of your stash you'll have a blast building it.
  20. Im on a roll recently, it normally takes me months too finish one model, finished three in the last two weeks !, anyway here is a 53 Ford f100 Ive tried to go for a late 50s early 60s show-rod sort of style, all parts came from the kit, apart from a parts box steering wheel, and the lake pipes are from the Revell 68 Corvette, I painted the whitewalls with Vallejo acrylics and smoothed the hood rib out. painted in Holts dupli color Burgundy red metallic, Love this kit has to be one of my favorites of all time.
  21. Had a lot of fun with this old kit, I have the newer repop Nascar version in tmy stash so I thought Id build this older one, the detail is fantastic for a kit that has its origins nearly 50 years ago !, its painted a close shade to Champagne beige (as close as I can get from a rattle can!), totally stock apart from the plug wires. Really enjoyable build.
  22. Theres a great vid about these Chevelle Z16s on youtube here's the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p61uqKHCfAo&list=PLOpvhua-osw2QcUoo3nkvJ9rteB5IgwVo&index=5

    '67 GTO

As other have said, this kit is one that is certainly showing its age, but you did a killer job on this one, looks sweet.
