  1. In my best Agent G voice . > . > . > . > . > . . . Showcarz!!!!
  2. Suppose this driver was in a hurry? Paying close attention to the road? Or texting or putting on makeup or . . . what? This morning, NW of Denver. Nine children in the bus, three injured. Bus driver okay. Car driver will be late to destination.
  3. I had one of these little jobs in the family ~ by marriage ~ as a second car back in the day. This example is fitted with European bumpers, but it's a Fiat 128. I didn't like being seen in it (much preferred stylin' in my Z/28) but it sure was a kick to drive . . . hard.
  4. You're obviously much more fortunate than I was. You never knew her.
  5. Well, I'm a StudeFolk. Have been all my life and certainly during my ownership of a 1:1 '53 Champion. I gotta say, I loves the Studes, but I wasn't offended. Chris is correct that AMC in the 60's was different than Studebaker in the 60's. But Mark's right that over the years acquisitions made strange bedfellows. The bigger point, I think, is that model building is a personal hobby or craft with plenty of room for all points of view: Factory Stock, Historically Accurate, Concept, Fun, Phantom, the inadvertent faux pas, and even the occasional Sacrilegious. Remember the Chrysler stock cars in the 50's that were sponsored by Mercury outboard motors? With that big billboard-sized "MERCURY" plastered on the side of that Chrysler, it caused all kinds of confusion. Talk about potential of offending honor! I've seen Mustangs with Chevy engines, Ford hot rods with Pontiac engines, Studebakers with Chrysler engines. Not a crime in the bunch. Relax, Chris, and enjoy the hobby and the forum. There's lots of fun to be had here. In a lot of different forms.
  6. My ex-half was right-handed as was I and everyone in our families on both sides. Being an NEA teacher, she got it in her osterized head that being a "lefty" was better than being a "righty." So, she undertook a self-imposed mission of converting our right-handed son to being a "lefty." He had a very confused, but somewhat ambidextrous childhood, doing neither well, and his handwriting is still far from legible (and he's not a doctor, so he can't get away with it). Yeah, I blame her.
  7. It's . . . interesting, you betcha. Dern tootin' its sumpin' else, right there, don'tcha know. Billy Bob Thornton at his darkest, evilest best. Oh, yah.
  8. They were busy wasting their time and money with Madelyn Murray.
  9. Very nice.
  10. Beautiful!
  11. April 2014 Hot Rod Magazine has an extensive article on a documented, detailed professional clone/resto of that car, prepared with help from Cotton Owens and input from the Pettys. Great article, lots of photos, and tons of information!
  12. Brad's correct. I don't recall the brand, but I have a couple of them. They're sweet. Retail for about $15 - $20.
  13. Wholeheartedly agree!! It came to Phoenix last year for Desert Scale Classic 9. What a spectacular eye-feast it is!!
  14. Yeah, and we've seen what happened to all of your kits. Every month . . .
  15. Yep. Pea-oria Chapter. [Rimshot]
  16. Oh, yeah. That LOOKS like something I'd drive, doesn't it? Question for you ~ is that the Quad logo on the folding sports chair behind it? Is this something from The Quad's collection?
  17. Great job. Excellent hot rod.
  18. Perhaps, James. But it's more fruitless to not try. Doesn't hurt and they're not charging us to vote. You just never know. Who'd a thunk a new F250/350 would come out of China?
  19. Oh, that bike! Whoa! Be still my heart.
