  1. {If you weren't at DSC10, you won't get it.}
  2. That is (was) a beautiful car. Go for it, Bill! I'd love to see a nice replica of that seriously stellar design!
  3. They were also developing the concept but they really got caught with their pants down when Lee Iacocca pushed the Mustang through faster. GM didn't even know Ford had it in development, so they were taking their sweet time (as was often the case) and were in no hurry. All of a sudden, the Mustang was being introduced while GM was still screwing around with all their committees and such.
  4. True dat. ^^ My Craftsman tools have been on the hobby-job for 40-50 years. I've already bought and maintained for decades all the precision tools I've ever needed. Having said that, however, I now realize ~ in all honesty ~ that I've reached the point in life where even cheap new tools are going to outlast me. I have nearly every tool I'll probably ever need, but when I run out to buy just one more thing, usually some odd-ball item I've never needed before and probably won't need again, I find myself satisfied with the level of quality of Harbor Freight tools. They're cheaper than Mac or Snap-On or Craftsman, and they're still gonna outlast me. I can't break them, and I dang sure ain't gonna live long enough to wear them out. Are there a lot of people in the same boat? I think so. Every time I go to The Yellow Store*, it's full of other guys like me, loading up on all the goodies they've never needed enough before to buy. (* 'The Yellow Store' - What the Lovely and Gracious Mrs. B calls Harbor Freight because she really doesn't care enough to remember its name).
  5. That's a good one!
  6. Sweeeeet.
  7. Excellent. I've always loved the '59 Dodges . . . since they were new . . .
  8. Man! Is nothing sacred any more?
  9. Russell was Ira-cool before Ira-cool was cool.
  10. Those are great PONY car finds, but not muscle cars. I thought Richard gAss Monkey was also off-base in referencing them as 'starting' the muscle car era. Last I checked, the experts still consider the '64 GTO as the ignition of the muscle car genre, although some old-schoolers like to cite the '49-'50 Olds Rocket 88s.
  11. Thanks, Cal. I was torn between some sort of Rolls and a Hispano for the body, just wasn't sure enough. Good job of tracking her down.

    Nice.
  13. Nice model.
  14. Yeah, not too many excuses that'll work with that scenario. What? "Honest, Sarge, I was just driving by when that big rock jumped out underneath me!" Nah. That's not gonna fly.
  15. Simple solution. Contact Jameston Kroon at Scalefinishes. He'll sell you the factory-correct hue for $10 for a 2-oz bottle. That's 4 times as much paint for the same money! And, after you do your touch-ups, you'll still have enough paint left over to paint a model to match yo big ride!
  16. It does have a chain drive, doesn't it?
  17. I've got to get down there (Metro Center) and check those out! I've heard they are the cars from the now-defunct Pavilions car museum.
  18. Here's the rear. Where's Art the Automotive Encyclopedia when we need him?
  19. Well, it's from the Grand National Roadster Show, we now know that much.
  20. Umgh. Mongo's grocery getter!
