  1. That's like calling a house ... "assembled lumber."
  2. Any reason you can't buy the '63 split window coupe and kitbash it with the '67 Vette kit? The '67 is an excellent full detail that would provide all the chassis, running gear, and engine compartment detail you could want. Just fit the '63 body, glass, and interior to it and voila ~ full detail split window! Or, can't you buy that?
  3. Preeeeeeeecisely my point! Thank you, than kew, tank ewe!
  4. What he said .... beautiful!
  5. Perhaps, but not in mine. No more extreme than referring to Macs as PCs. No different than electing to call all computers 'typewriters' just because you want to.
  6. Very nice.
  7. Of course there is . . . You sometimes see someone refer to a completed model as a "kit." An unassembled group of parts in a box with instructions may be referred to as either a 'kit' or a 'model kit,' but once completed, it is no longer a 'kit,' it is a 'model.'
  8. What's so defiant about that model? Or, about kitbashing? (If you're going to parse words, you have to be consistent and parse all words.) It's all semantics ... and in the grand scheme of things ... none of it matters much. Call it what you like, kitbashing or parts box building. Just don't call it scratchbuilding. There used to be a couple of people here (and their fawning posse) who would call what you describe - scratchbuilding. It ignites wars. But, then, come to think of it, I've never seen a built-up parts box, either. Speaking of semantic wars, just don't get us started on the kit vs. model argument. I KNOW what is RIGHT, it's just that there's a few fools who don't agree with me!
  9. Hey, Jim Kelly, You gonna change your handle to Martinfan11? Inquiring minds want to know!
  10. 10-4, Tom. And, G. Same blue, one antenna, dark blue vinyl top, Wht sidewall tires, and full wheel covers, and it was my 1980 ride (in detectives). We were into the non-cop-car look for out detective rides. Patrol had the same ride, gold-and-white in the CHP scheme, light bars and spotlights plus the antennas. And, oh, yeah, gold stars on the white doors!
  11. Looks even better every time you touch it, Brad!! Way to go!
  12. All of the above. Of course any police vehicle kit would be a great seller, dedicated or not. Every one they've ever produced (except the stupid Revell Z-28 with IMSA fender pontoons, or the off-scale 1/20th Lindberg stuff) has been a worthy inventory item. Look at how popular the Johann '68 Plymouth CONTINUES to be. Look at all the successful re-issues of the '70 Ford, the Caprice kits got off to a relatively slow start, but they've been steady sellers and still pull demand, and look at the continued success of the Lindberg Crown Vics, even though the 1:1 cars were updated just before the kits hit the market. And, you wanna talk about the Revell Impala? Respectable sales for a kit of a car that had a mixed reputation as a 1:1. Now, look at the eager anticipation of the upcoming '57 Ford, and ~ ~ ~ watch the Mustang 5.0 notchback ... can you say 'barn burner'? Crank out any of the 69-75 Chrysler police cars, the mid-70's Coronets/Satellites, and watch the fireworks. Granted, the 80's LTDs and Caprices/Impalas, the Matadors, the Diplomats/St.Regis/Gran Furys might be so-so sellers, but they'd all still justify their own existences.
  13. Looks great, Brad!

  17. Pilot says, 37,000 feet high! (What did you think I meant?) This airborne WiFi is pretty neat. i still remember when they insisted even a cell phone would bring down an airplane!
  18. Looks good, David.
