1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 Build (70's style)
hvymtl replied to Shelbytona's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Well i wasn't old enough back then but i remember seeing old issues of Car Craft and the cars were all painted white and then the cone shape trailer lights bolted to the rear axle. And this went on into the eighties also. Michael -
Sweet two-tone i was sorta skeptical at first but i see it and really nice Michael

Another one ????? All right man this is sooooo sweet i am digging this gonna do the shackles in white ? along with the rear axle and such ... just kiddin' man i really can't wait for this one Michael -
DUDE that is really cool and a really cool tribute for your dad. i personally love seeing the modified cars from back in the day not the over restored furniture at the idiot auctions. i would have been drooling over that charger back then if i saw it . Great work Randy you also make my work look bad now lol... Michael

Totally out of left field . but i like it can't wait to see this one done. i like the whole concept. tho i know some 1:1 rodders who would faint at the sight . Michael

Welcome aboard to the shindig there Zen . An allison in a 61 chev hmmmm. Oh by the ay me and the wife were out shopping and on our way backhome i was shocked to see the remains of y'alls van sitting in back of a house back on all 4 wheels in Girard Ohio, minutes from I80 . But really sucks is Summit racing as having a 3 day scratch and dent sale over in Akron And we with no money. The wife as sad and happy at the same time. i am thinking stroked smallmblock 377 with webers and cross ram from the 62 gran sport vette. fell out the back door of chevy research and development . Well good luck Zen and glad to see ya here Michael

Hmmm a hemi cuda ,70 Coronet and a slew of mopars we have as far s seeing dust from the hemi, you will have all the so-called purist experts from Barret Jackson chasing you leaving me to show you a proper wedge head will do better pics later this week. as my crew has sorta wheeled in some awesome parts from a chrysler showcar, apparently these boys have a nice viper V-10 with an auto trans and thensuspension under the truck but i was asked not to ask where the parts have come from. they keep me on my tows everytime i go out back of the shop i keep seeing new arrivals to be scrapped out .man the boys take after the older folk rowming around here . seems there has been this kindof thing going on since the late 50's . With the connections here in this shop , nothing surprizes me much anymore. Moreto come later this week good luck to everyone here and watch out for Lapchick on his cycle. Michael

WOW! even i never thought of a rag top R model This needs lots of carbon fiber good luck on getting it finished Michael
-
yeah finding tires will be fun plus with '62 tech maybe consider having spares along for the ride As for the imp i might go with a '61 ss in the stash it is just primered body wise Michael
-
well i have the stock delray and if someone wants or needs the stock wheels and tires i would be willing to trade for the lowered suspension parts heck i even have some black widow pieces i would trade for the cali lowered pieces. I also feel that there should be better selection of wheels like in the 2in 1 Nova with the convo-pros.
-
Well i think i am in was gonna do a 62 imp but Bk got dibs so i will be doing either a 56 Del ray or a 57 Black widow michael
-
Thanks D i wanted to post that but was stuck at work . i have the Brock Yates book Cannonball very good read. Also i have a question are the cars allowed to have modern gear or are we limited to the year cut off? Michael
-
AHHH this is for me the open road with a screaming 427 s/c at my command too fun. would be a wreck physically after finishing Roll on Yellow Camaro !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was involved in the other rally over "there". and i look forward to this build off whether i am in or not Michael
-

Stacey David's Rat Roaster by : REVELL
hvymtl replied to Greg Myers's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Well i would buy one also in 1/25 scale but i saw the show saturday and he pointed to the 1/8 scale duece body and fenders on the table when talkin about the models Michael -
This is the coolest vette since the 62 gran sport . really thought out well although i think Ralph Nader would come out of retirement to complain about the rear mounted fuel tank. maybe in the mid ship bulkhead behind the passenger compartment also help with the weight balance. just my opinion . But i really love the look of it , maybe a Carrera GT beater . later Michael

I think yer nuts that is an awesome build i love how low it sits and just looks right. mine never come out that good looking. you did Joel Rosen proud i woould say.. Michael

Wooo Hoooo! Issue# 161 arrived today!
hvymtl replied to Danno's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My Issues come to my parents house so i got mine the other night when my father brought out Mom's Trailblazer to double check the brake job i did .. that went fast so i get to the throne to read .And i too saw the misspelling too but i wasn't so sure Michael . -
Hemi, Schemi. if a stage 2 455 cant break a gm 12 bolt then i know a 440 won't hurt it . But seriously i think it is only plastic and resin. Yeah i too was miffed cuz we all know those Bufords kicked Ma Mopar all over the Strip way back in the 80's . If this car is like the ItalVette (sorry for the spelling) then i can forgive the engine . Besides a Ferrari in a Chev is more to me LMAO. Good Luck with this build Sir you are a true Artist. Michael

Nice detail wish i could stay patient enough to get my work to look that good like i said i love it Michael

That is sweet looks right to me . i really dug the cars from the last two F&F movies since the ricer flavor died down they actually have some cool cars . although they did destroy a few classics that were low production number cars . Guess it is messier to wreck a bunch of Priuses instead. Michael
