need help with wheel sizing
CelticModeler replied to CelticModeler's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Excuse me i know the terms i just did use the correct termfor what i was looking for. Yes i am looking for rim diameters. -
So i found a set of wheels on ebay that are exactly what i am looking for. However the person selling them doesnt know the scale size of them. They said the actual sizes are Small fronts: 10 mm wide X 26 mm tallBig rears: 13 mm wide X 30 mm tall Anyone know how i can find out what scale size they are? He said he thinks fronts are 15 and rear is 18 but want to try and be sure. These are the wheels

70.5 protour Camaro (Motor done 4/2)
CelticModeler replied to CelticModeler's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I agree pro tour is more likely to be a comfortable daily than prosreet but i still like both styles. Ive never been one to follow fads when it comes to customization. I do what i like and what is clean in my eye. If i like something but others dont, that doesnt mean i wont continue to like it. Juat like i love rat rods and will always love them. They seem to be out of style now but i stll enjoy them. Have a scale version of one id own just havnt gotten around to finishing it -
70.5 protour Camaro (Motor done 4/2)
CelticModeler replied to CelticModeler's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I would like to build them both eventually. Love both styles. But i think im going to go with everyone elses opinion and do the protour. Now i juat have to aquire the wheels for the right look -
So next build for me is one of my favorite cars ever made. The 70.5 camaro. I will be building this with pro touring style and mainly stock components other than wheels and some suspension alterations. Here is the 1:1 im trying to replicate. The hood will be slighlty different with a small cowl instead of the ram air.

Sprayed clear this morning and did a rough mock up to see what copper head is going to look like and i have to say im digging it. Now i have a tough decision. Not sure if i should leave all the chrome alone or tint it so its a dark grey\charcoal. I think the grey and copper orange would look nice but then again the chrome looks nice too

Wondering who makes the best waterslide decal paper. Want to make some custom decals but heard good things and bad bout some manufactures so wanted advice on what way to go
-
So did a little bit this morning. Decided to add some styrene trim to the seat since i was going to change the color a bit. Also started stripping the fender with brake fluid back down to base and finally sprayed the custom base coat on the rest of the truck. Think this color would be nice too on another build. Its a goldish cooper look with metal flake in it. Was going to start spraying top color but wanted to wait till i had all my pieces in base so i can make sure they all get the same shade. Will hopefully get top color on tonight and clear tomorrow.

Im going to work on this more tomorrow. Hopefully will come out better with primer this time and can do another decent paint job. Will wait longer till i polish it this time tho.

Aoshima Murcielago LP670-4 SV (aka What Did I Do Wrong?)
CelticModeler replied to heptoman's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Lol the anticipation -
Thanks. I used two different shades of brown. Applied dark coat all over it then lighter coat on top once the dark coat was dry. Then wiped off the high pots with a Q tip. Was just messing around and ended up coming out nicely first shot. Then just went in with chrome silver and painted the strips by hand then finally cleared it.
