  1. So went to test out the alclad II today. Painted my spoons gloss black two days ago and let them sit. Anyways i start spraying and start seeing a rainbow look to the flakes and was quite puzzled. Tried another spoon and same thing. It wasnt until spraying a second layer and noticing the colors intensifying that i looked that the bottle of alclad. Well just so happens that instead of sending chrome to me i recieved "holomatic spectral-chrome". So im fairly unhappy. Contacted the ebay seller and they reassured me it was their mistake and they will send me the chrome and i can keep this bottle. Welp that was my setback that bursted my bubble for today.
  2. Next time u need to strip use brake fluid. It works in about an hour and doesnt harm the plastic
  3. This hood is a real pain. Stripped jt down and painted it again.......... And once again i dropped it.
  4. Got first stages of paint on the body and interior. I have to say i usually use tamiya paint but saw the createx pearl blue at hobby lobby and figured id give it a shot. Sprayed awesomely very easy to work with. And i have to say...... Im in love. This is my favorite color and didnt have to mix it with anything to get the right shade. The flake in it is so nice in the sun. The interior is a flat blue. Once its dry i will tape it off and add the grey and decals. The body will be getting alclad if i can figure it out and feel comfotable with it. Wil try the wheels first before i touch the body. If not ill foil it. Messed up the hood tho. Dropped it while spraying and smudged it so have to strip it and repaint but not bad. Anyways let me know what you guys think.
  5. Got the front suspension, rear suspension and rear end in today. Also began making the holes in the wheels wider. You can see the before and after. I think they look alot better this way. Need to sand out some of the rough spots then prime and chrome. I also chopped the exhaust right after the mufflers and started painting them like cherrybombs (i know they arnt glasspacks). Made an optima yellow top battery and did some more detail on the motor and tinted the carb. Got the mold lines sanded, door lines etched and body and hood primed. Will do another light sanding in the morning then hoping to start painting on the body and interior tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think.
  6. Chassis is painted more work done to the motor and did some more interior work. This one is coming together quick
  7. Small update. Wheels are in tested them with the car. Like the way they look. Rear wheels are a bit big but will work once i modify the chassis a bit and get the body to sit a bit better. Overall i do like them tho and once they are painted i think theyll look killer. Scale wise they are roughly 24in in the rear and 20in in the front. Little bigger than i was going for but these are the design i was looking for with the right lip so im good with them. Let me know what u guys think. Are they too big?
  8. Thanks funny how close the colors are. And i mixed my by hand using yellow and red lol
  9. I did the same thing with the 50s. Gutted the engine bay, put in a resis 383 stroker and slammed it to the ground. Glad im not the only one that had done it
  10. Reminds me of the cooper head 3100 i juat finished. Have a cameo on the shelf just have a few other projects ahead of it. Like where its going tho keep it up
  11. The paint on this is roughly what id be doing if i went two tone
  12. Honestly i am curious too. I will be opening them Up more than they are but i think they should come out decent. Alclad is still in the mail so cant try it yet.
  13. Ok so opinions because i cant make up my mind. Solid blue like the 1:1 above? Silver and blue or white and blue?
  14. Here are the wheels i will be using. Theh will be chromed. Also aimiing for this stance. Also have the interior mocked up. Using 66 nova pro street front seats, 69 camaro center console and shifter. Will add clutch pedal when completed. Let me know what you guys think of the interior. I like it but questioning whether it goes at the same time. I know the seat prints are different but im ok with that. The interiror will have black carpeting, blue inserts in the seats and door panels and grey leather for the rest
  15. So once again im waiting for parts for my other builds and im impatient so starting on my next build. Doing a street rod 57 bel air. Love making chevy's. Anyways made a decent amount of progress on this today. Doing some slight mods to it. Will have somewhat different interior, 70 camaro wheels and thinking bout a cowl hood but undecided on that yet. Will be a pearl blue with metal flake( not sure if i should go two wont or not. Second color would be metal flake silver or white) Anyways heres some pics of what ive got done so far. Let me know what you guys think questions and comments encouraged.
  16. So hit an aggrivating snag today. Was widening the chassis to fit the wider wheels. Had most of it all set. Then needed to make some small changes to the interior tub to work with the chassis. Well one thing led to another and a "BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH" storm ensued. Ended up heating the back where the rear seat is to try and bend the little bit of room that i needed. Ended up warping the whole tub beyond repair. I then tried cutting the back half off and remaking it out of styrene and that was an even worse horror show. I give credit to all the guys that make custom parts. Deffinitely harder than it looks. Anyways ended up finding the same kit i was workinh with on amazon for cheap so picked it up and with prime will be here thursday. Wish i knew better ways to work with the styrene. I can work metal no problem but this plastic is a whole new ball game. Well thats it for today.
  17. Im trying to find just the supercharger. If i cant find something that i like ill probably pick up the 6.2 from scale
  18. Im looking for just the supercharger but if i cant find what im looking for ill prpbably pick that motor up
  19. Let me know how they look Please
  20. Want to build a beefy motor for my 69 camaro protour. Want to have a supercharger in it but still try and keep the hood with the stock cowl on it. Looking for a supercharger like the one pictured below. Anyone point me in the right direction?
  21. This is kind of what im looking for as far as the supercharger.
  22. Nice build man. Looks good especially since not having done a build in a while. Look forward to seeing this finished.
  23. Thanks. Was thinking the wheels were too far apart for sizes but the more i look at it the more im ok with it and like it. I will also be shaving all the marker lights badging and door handles
  24. Looks like a cool unique build.
  25. So started my second pro touring camaro while im waiting for some things for the 70.5 to come in (the wheels). The 69 will also be a pro tour setup. Picked up a pair of 19in. And 23in. Torque thrust wheels. Also picked up pegasus rotor assemblies. She will be all black with all trim blacked out. Spokes on the wheels will be blacked with chrome lips. Going to try and put a supercharger in the motor under the stock hood. Might have to modify it to fit tho. Anyways heres the 1:1 im going off of as well as how i hope i can get the car to sit. Let me know if anyone knows of a supercharger resin that has dome kind of air cleaner or something short instead of a bird catcher.
