NEED HELP!!!!! Didnt let my clear coat harden enough before polishing so i went thru back down to primer.... So i had to resand everything and reprime. Now one of my fenders keeps wrinckling. It has done it twice now. What could be causing it? I have done the same thing with everything and this is the only one that seems to happen to. This is one of my favorite trucks and have been wanting to finish it for some time but its really starting to get on my nerves.250s

Interested to see how this comes out.

So forgot to post pics as ive been working on this but decided to finally do the 66 nova pro street. Always loved novas and well pro streets are pretty sick. So i nicknamed this beast RedSled. I have most of the car done just waiting for clear to harden for a few days so i can do a final buff and polish. Made a kind of custom red\maroon paint with a silver metal flake which changes color drastically depending on thr light. Added the mad distributor kit and some small decals under the hood. Also this is the first car i have done a 2 tone interior and im mostly happy with how it came out. Could have done a little better but looks good to me. Also painted the frame which i thought was a nice little touch. Still need to finish the custom exhaust im making and metal foil it and add some final touches but this is what i have so far. Add

Love the flooring idea. Will have to try this. Nice build -
Thanks. Got a little frustrating fitting the motor in this body. Unfortunately i cant run a fan because theres nkt enough room. Other than that im ok/happy with the rest of my work. Have some small spots of fish eye on the paint so gotta let it sit for a few days to harden then sand and buff it and begin final assembly.

So began my next build the other day. Started AMT chevy 3100 pickup. Decidied to do a semi-custom setup with it. Have a 383 stroker motor i put in it. Also using wheels from my 57 chevy kit and was planning to mount them backwards. I like the deep dish look to it. Did some slight modifications to the suspension to lower it a bit and also had to make a bigger tunnel for the tranny. Painting it a custom cooper orange pearl with silver flake and interior is a light tanish honey color. Like how its coming out so far but will have to stay tuned for the final assembly. Let me know what you guys think of the work so far. This will be my first model i have airbrushed and third model ive made.

Very cool and different. Ill have to watch and see where this goes

I havent figured out what exactly im going to do to fix it yet. It is exactly the chop and rake i wanted but now i have to deal with that haha.the other side isnt as bad as this side tho. Not bad for my first chop tho i think. Will work on it some more tonight and post an update. So far its been tougher than i expected but still fun
-
Worked some more tonight. Got most of the motor done. Trying different little things like "orange gasket" on the oil pan. Also painted the wheels and tried to get an idea of where it will sit at ride height. Think i need to dechrome the rest of the motor parts. Might keep the carb chrome tho. And yes i know the window gaps dont line up great on the front. Going to have to work with it some more.

So finally got around to working on this build. Im doing two at the same time. But anyway. Zeeing and chopping the top sounded alot easier than what it turned out to be and yes i can see this is going to be alot of dry fitting on this one. First car i have built requiring mods like this so deff a learning curve. Also tried to get the chop lines to smooth out with putty but wasnt working to well. Glad im going for a rat on this one and not a polished show car haha.

Yes i feel like my generation and the generations younger generations make hobbies like this a dying art form. Was hard to find an actual hobby shop in my area. Remember there were several in my area when i was younger. Alot of younder kids want video games and electronics and arnt interested in stuff like this. But i feel like i will continue to do this well into my "adulthood". But i have nothing to do during the days for the next few months so i have 4 or 5 projects sitting and waiting to be torn into. I will post build threads and update as i go. Im new so hopefully i will get betyer as i go. -
Hows it going modelers. My name is Mack aka celticmodeler. A little backround in me. Im 24 from RI, love tattoos, my pups, motorcycles and heavy machinary. Work as a diesel mechanic at catepillar. Im newish to modeling. Made one or two when i was in my teens but ended up getting away from it with other hobbies. Well as fate would have it got into a motorcycle accident in december and broke my leg badly( compund fractured tib and fib) also lost alot of muscle and skin on the front of my leg. Wont post pics but looked like a raw steak hanging out of my leg. Anyways with a broken leg been doing alot of couch surfing and getting pretty tired of it. So decided to get back into modeling. Mainly like chevy and gm's but will do some for and mopar vehicles down the line...( with chevy power plants lol) anyways looking forward to meeting new people on here and learning some new things.
