  1. Hey guys, Started this a month ago, botched the body right out of the box. I got another one off ebay witch had a gap issue witch I did fix. I had to do away with the center seam witch looks awful. I still have to work on the left drip rails and a bit on the right side but that's not too bad, I ordered decals from model truckin.com and plan on doing like the last pic.. does anyone have a source for detail parts like wires, air hoses, springs and under cab insulation? Thanks
  2. Hello all, Getting back and finishing some builds. I've been working on this one since December. My first "real" big rig, few mods, I originally wanted to do it as a dump truck, but changed my mind. Still have to make the radiator hose, the kit one is MIA. Thanks for looking and all comments ae welcome!
  3. Great work so far! Can't wait to see it done.
  4. As some of you may know I enjoy weathering my models and though its ok I've never really cared for my results. So hat are some of the things you guys use? I've tried washes before with no luck and usually use various paints. Also, what do you use for rust powder? Thanks
  5. I've been kicking around this one for while, pulled it out recently as I'm trying to clear old projects. Heres what I have done so far...
  6. Nice build and story! I like to build old work trucks so I'll have to file away the work bed idea.
  7. I pulled this out and finished it up over the holiday, my first attempt at a large amount of modification. I used a late 70s ford frame, axels, driveshaft and transfer case, shortened it, and shortened the driveshaft. I cut out the stock gas tank, filled in the hole and made a support and bumper in the back around the ford gas tank. I put in the stock small block Chevy and used tri-five Chevy exhaust manifolds flipped up-side-down with homemade pipes, also added a homemade roll bar along with seat belts and a steering wheel from the parts box. wheels and tires as well as the air cleaner and plates are from the parts box too. Thanks for looking an all comments/suggestions welcome.
  8. Sorry 2 of these threads posted, It said error so I hit submit again. If the could delete one I would appreciate it. Thanks
  9. This summer I built this kit up using a new "overspraying" weathering technique I had developed. I never really liked the way it turned out the weathering just didn't work with the blue paint so I re built it, kind of. I added the wood bed walls, red door w/f150 trim and primer along with re-weathering a lot of it with various paints I also added an inspection sticker and some junk I the bed. Thanks for looking and all comments/suggestions welcome! I only have the one pic of it for now...

  11. This is amazing! I love the bench with the tools and parts! with I had the time/money/skill to do this!
  12. Nice work, looks like a cool project. Can't wait to see it done! I'd love to get my hands on one of those old dodge kits and build it like the real one my dad had in the 80s.
  13. Wow, looks great! Can't wait to see it done!
  14. Built this over the holiday, pics don't do the weathering justice.
  15. That is awesome!
  16. Neither did I until someone pointed it out, too bad AMT did't bother to fix that as the kit has been out for a while.
  17. Fineshed this up in 2 weeks, painted it Testors artic blue metalflake, looks pretty good but the hood fish-eyed. The rear tires won't stay on the rims for some reason. Allcomments welcome, enjoy!
  18. As the title says, is there anyway to remove a water slide decal on a model without damaging the paint? Thanks!
  19. Another kit finished!
  20. This one's been one he bench for a while but I finally finished it up last week, the old work horse is taking a load to the junkyard and the owner even brought along his tool box in hopes of finding himself a new tailgate! All comments welcome, Thanks for lookin!
