  1. changed the tires, found tires that are a lot closer to the real ones, had to shave own the wheels to work with a thinner truck tier.....and mocked up the front end to see ride height. Also got the roll bar and back rest done too.
  2. thanks for all the great comments guys. Very appreciated. when I purchased the UH UM!! body ..... the Mrs was with me, store policy is that they open the package and put batteries in it to assure that it works before you leave the store. I was doig fine until it got to this part.... The sales lady asked my wife if she wanted to assure that it worked and she replied to the sales lady" its not for me its for him" RIGHT THEN!!! my ears were on fire ...at that point I was left with lilttle choice but to explain what it was for. The sales lady asked if I could send some pics after it was done. Her husband builds model cars too and she said that without the pics he wouldnt believe her
  3. Well....its all done....and not a minute too soon....it felt funny to handle um uh! a certain part that was purchased to complete this build If you never have seen the WIP post....thats where all the info on this build is.
  4. got a few more pics to add.
  5. Hey George53 buddy, thanks for emailing me and checking if everything was cool with me. Here you are George, the car that you saw in person when you'ze was litlle at the track Here's something you dont see every day, Allison V-12 aircraft powered home made dragster from the 50's. Most know who Art Arfons was and what he did for the automotive and racing. This is one guy who either had a death wish or just plain nuts. But through his engineering of dragsters, numorous land speed record breaking cars, to monster truck pullers he was one of the most famous pioneers of racing with his Jet engine powered 1/4 milers.....so I decided to build this from scratch except the Allison engine and see what i would be able to accomplish. Frame rails from styrene square rod and round rod, Allison aircraft motor from the Revell parts pack, wheels from the Ford F-350 dually, tires from old 1940's truck and as for the body..... lets say I had 2 choices..... 1-buy an aircraft kit at a cost of $40+ and hope to be the right shape and size.....OR.... UM! think WAY outside the box and UH Yikes!! devile go to and adult store and buy a torpedo for $7.95, LMAO gut it... so I can cut it up and weld the nose end to the frame which happens to be a perfect fit and shape. Guess which one i picked
  6. This beast is got to be one of the butt ugliest beaten up trucks Ive seen in along time I LOVE IT..... Excellent craftsmanship
  7. very nice clean build....much better without the towing body
  8. very nice clean build....much better without the towing body
  9. Thanks for the offer Mike, but i'll pass, A couple of days ago, I was given the help or nudge in the right direction that I was looking for from a good friend. Thanks Mike Bear
  10. Thanks for the response David.....I really liked that Ferrari. But unfortunately we dont have anyone that I know here to get MCM model car magazines in Alberta. Ive looked everywhere and the closest places that i can get my hands on it is in Vancouver BC, ...or Regina Saskatchewan.....and either way Im not going to drive 8 to 12 hours up and 8 to 12 hours back for a $14.00 magazine. I have a modeller friend that has answered most of my questions on another site. Dan
  11. I have a hard time putting on simple decals and here sits this beautiful carbon fiber car.....Do you use any special products to apply the decals...... and do you try to put the decals on in as many large pieces as possible........ or is it easier to put smaller pieces and try to match the seams? I would like to be a bit more nimble to be able decal a car to add to the look.
  12. Im speechless on this masterpiece WOW!!!!! I have a hard time putting on simple decals and here sits this beautiful carbon fiber car.....Do you use any special products to apply the decals and do you try to put the decals on in as many large pieces as possible or is it easier to put smaller pieces and try to match the seams?
  13. Im not too much into bikes but I have watched over the years lots of bike show on TV and the different styles that the builder do .......and in my opinion this is something that I think Indian Larry would ride in a heartbeat. Excekent work bro
  14. Hey Bryce....Glad to see you on this side of the planet. Seen your work in your neck of the woods and it will said here to AWSOM work and detailing....you are a great addition to this club
  15. That id one awsom build....brings back the days of shag...and I am talkin about both too the dico ball, the water bed, plush finished interiors, and all that fresh smell of inscense.....explains alot of foggy memories to a lot of folks
  16. these are my rides. Chrysler Pacifica, 2002 Dakota 4.7 magnum and I used to own 74 Road Runner with police interceptor package. the RR was traded car for car for the Pacifica because my old 91 Blazer S10 had pooped out and I couldnt afford a new car. Then my 91 Ford explorer started to do the same...so we had no choice and took out some equity from the house and bought the Dodge Dakota.
  17. I dont think they wil be breaking any sales records this year....over the last 3 days I have heard Craig complain on how under paid the cars are being sold at compared to previous years....But thats what economy does....when its good....so is are the investers with the $$$....when the economy is bad....people are more stingy with the $$$. Cant wait to see what the big money cars go for this year.... I think we're not done hearing the whining from the hosts
  18. I had bought the car off one of my co workers in mid 07 for $8500.00. What I thought I was buying was just your every day regular RoadRunner with the 360 motor. I was going to modify it but keep the original look with modern drive train. when I decoded the fender tag thats when all heck broke loose. I found out the car had the police motor and drive train option and the more I looked into the car the more that i found that the car was original. Hard to tear up a car that was in the condition that this one. As time went I had a registry search done on it and found out that out of 1350 that were made like mine with the 360High Performance / police package.......only 6 showed up in the registries accross North America. Not saying that there are only 6 of these cars left..... but....6 leagally registered. The fear of diving it in my city where I think we have accumulated the most retards behind the wheel, fearing of getting it smashed in by the local idiot....or getting it stolen.....I decided that I would not keep it...seeing that I couldnt modify it to my liking with out killing the value didnt help much either. So I traded it. The next time Im buying a project car.....but me and Murphy's law....I'll probably end up with a rare barn find and still get screwed out of a HotRod or Street Machine
  19. Quote... Can anyone tell me what this started as?, I'm thinking C-10 but I'm not sure...Quote DRUGS
  20. I was watching it cause a Road Runner I once owned till July of this year was on the auction block today, Lot # 627.1 Back in July I traded the RR for a Chrysler Pacifica with 20,000 miles on it from a Chrysler dealer in Calgary....staright up exchange. Then they sold it to DesertAutosport in Scottsdale Arizona....he had it on ebay for 2 weeks without success then registered it in the Barrett Jackson Auction. The car sold for only $15,500 plus the 10% commission for a total of $17,050.00 I found it realy bad cause the car was 1 of 6 Still Registered in Notrth America with the RM21L4 option. Plus the car was 97% original with 49673 miles. this is the car that Im talking about
  21. Im gonna say 63 Tbird s base kit with maybe pontiac bashee or KnightRider 2000 parts
  22. Well George....Im glad you have a sense of humor.....cause as far as im concerned(and being catholic myself) jokes are jokes and people need to have a good laugh.......if one finds jokes it offensive, they just dont have to read them. My opinion is this....everyone finds jokes funny as long as it targets others instaed of them in which ever way. So Im not worried about offending anyone.....cause I dont care....ITS A JOKE!
  23. 'Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl'. The priest asks, 'Is that you, little Joey Pagano ?' 'Yes, Father, it is.' 'And who was the girl you were with?' 'I can't tell you, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation' Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?' 'I cannot say.' 'Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?' 'I'll never tell.' 'Was it Nina Capelli?' 'I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.' 'Was it Cathy Piriano?' 'My lips are sealed.' 'Was it Rosa DiAngelo, then?' 'Please, Father, I cannot tell you.' The priest sighs in frustration. 'You're very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself.' Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Franco slides over and whispers, 'What'd you get?' 'Four months vacation and five good leads.'
  24. Welcome Mike and excellent way to make an entrance into this club....wicked build
