  1. The scoop operates by a cam and lever system attached to the front axel shaft. Push the car forward scoop lifts up, pull back and it retracts. Quite simple but effective.
  2. This was the Ertl Snap Kit. Body mods- removed running boards, re-shaped fenders, added fender to hood header pipes, scratch-built tail lights and tail pipes, parts box wheels and tires, modified 1937 Ford Sedan interior, scratch-built tinted windows, retractable hood scoop with element. Refinished in BASF lacquers, clear coated in DuPont urethane clear.
  3. I had to extend the rear portion of the man framrails witha piece of 3mm rectangular plastic stock, you have to do this to get the correct wheelbase and get engine cover hinge geometry correct, this is a must!
  4. This car was a real (PITA). It's an old Monogram kit. This car is definitely a skill level 3, it should be at 5. It required a lot of test fitting because of the tolerances. The main issue is that the frame was 3 mm too short, which had to be corrected in order for the bonnett hinges to operate properly and to get the correct wheel base, but still a very nice kit and pretty well engineered for its age. Refinished in BASF German Silver; interior and chassis refinshed in PPG lacquers, parts box decals, clear coated in DuPont urethane clear, engine was wired and plumbed, scratch built 2 air filters and front oil cooler.

    Aerovette

This was the first issue Aerovette by Monogram. This is kit is about 10 years old. It was a fun kit, painting and installing the glass takes a lot of TLC, but it's worth the effort. I wired and plumbed the engine, added throttle linakge and fuel line, scratch built the distributor cap (the kit cap was too small to drill for the wires). Refinished in Krylon dull aluminum spray, tinted with a drop of titanium metalizer. Clear coated with DuPont urethane clear. The kit decals were trash so I left them off.
  6. Testor's kit (real piece of doo-doo). Body was full of ripples and sink holes. It was meant to be a motorized toy. Block sanded and primed, re-finished with Dupli Color touch up lacquer, clear coated with DuPont urethane clear. Interior re-finished in PPG lacquers, wheels painted in Floquil gold enamel.
  7. RM kit, refinished in Plasti-kote (scratch color) touch up paints, clear coated in DuPont urethane clear, interior was refinished in PPG lacquers.
  8. This is the Monogram Mustang Indy pace car kit with parts box hood and side scoops, wheels and tires. Engine wired and plumbed, scratch built window cranks, door handles, convertible boot snaps, shifter turned wood knob, personalized license plate. Refinished in BASF lacquers and DuPont urethane clear.
  9. RM model, engine wired and plumbed, seatbelts, refinished in BASF lacquers, DuPont urethane clear coat.
  10. Revell kit, engine wired and plumbed, bass wood door panels and bed floor, painted in PPG dark grey acrylic sealer.
  11. Revell kit, engine wired and plumbed with machined pulleys, parts box front wheels and drag chute RM acrlyic lacquers and DuPont urethane clear.
  12. This is my first nail polish paint job. I went to the Dollar Store and picked up three bottles of Raspberry Ice, which I thought would look cool. I clear coated it with DuPont urethane clear. Interior was done in two toned PPG lacquers- peach and vanilla.
  13. RM kit. Engine wired and plumbed. Refinished in BASF lacquers and DuPont urethane clear. Kit supplied wood grain decals.
  14. The recent Revell re-issue. Re-finished in RM lacquer, DuPont urethane clear coat; plumbed and wired; scratch-built grill assembly, oil cooler, extended breather caps, Monte Carlo bar, seat harness; PE hood pins.
